old timers on here complaining about every little thing that goes on in tiger stadium that isn't exactly what went on in the "glory days". look, don't get me wrong, we wouldn't be where we are today without the support that we've had for what seems like 100 years. Having said that, I get that things are a little different, but nonetheless, tiger stadium is still the best college football atmosphere in the nation. Maybe this is the off season truly starting to wear on me, but really, the TS scene isn't going to look like the 70's every week. Can we not all get together and just enjoy what we have? which is still the best?

I'm tired of all the new timers complaining about all the old timers complaining about the new timers.

At least we know the old timers aren't fair weather fans like our fan base has been plagued with since 03

Tiger Stadium is the best atmosphere for a few games out of the year but I'm not so sure overall it is the best anymore, just too many damn people leaving early

You really don't want it to look like the 70's. Not that much tailgating going on. OH, there was some, but no where near what there is today. Only great thing we had was every student got in on his/her ID, first come, first served ! GAtes opened at 3pm, and we rushed in to claim our seats. The section was PACKED every game. And remember games started at 7:30 or was it 8 back then. A little foggy ! They really didn't care what you brought in back then !

I suppose I belong with the old timers (CheE '85) but much of it is just the appreciation of (one of) the best traditions in all of CFB and hate seeing it get eroded little-by-little.

Don't be offended. Rather, do your part to be the next generation of the best CFB tradition!

Can you show me a link of old timers complaining? The problem on the rant is the new fans who expect to go undefeated every year

How many stadiums have you visited? Have you been to Oregon? Florida? Bama? Penn State? Wisky? The ONE game a year that CBS allows LSU to play at night against a legit opponent is the best atmosphere in the nation. Outside of that, it's really gone downhill.

It might be the most successful era in Tiger Stadium, but it's not the atmosphere it used to be. Back when 8-4 was considered a successful year, just playing a top 15 was exciting as hell and you could feel it in the air. If you won the game, people would go nuts...storm the field. When you are No. 3, you don't ever expect to lose. What victory is going to cause people to react like that? If you play No. 8, you expect to win. If you don't blow out No. 22, you are pissed. I would rather go 13-0 every year, but back when a win was not expected every week, the games were more exciting.

Oh, and the ratio of "old timers" to whatever you consider yourself is likely about 9:1. You are sick of the "old timers?" Imagine how many more people are sick of you.

young man, i've lost my hair, some eyesight and hearing, and too much sex drive, .... but,

we had to walk thru the swamps barefoot uphill both ways to nite games before lectricity. i burned the heck out of my hand holding candles for 3 hours in the sweaty nite.

it was magic.

yall kids got it sooo easy. respect the elders.

100% accurate statement there.

That's not going to change either because nobody at L.S.U. has the balls to even approach the S.E.C. about asking C.B.S. for some kind of TV contract waiver/exception/exemption that will allow us to keep at least one or two big conference game at night.

I think its more of the other SEC teams not having the balls to accept such a contract. Why would they want to play LSU at night?
