It’s playoffs or Bust for the top teams. They’ve fulfilled their contract. GTFO of my way losers I’m out.

With NIL, most are getting paid to play for LSU. That should include the bowl game or forfeit some money.

It’s funny that the only people that think this are mostly middle aged men that never played. The players don’t care, nor should they

It's frustrating. Especially when your opponent has literally 0 opt outs.

I didn't like it when Fournette started it, I don't like it today.

Bowl games are not good enough anyways. It's either playoffs or season is a failure.

More schools will skip bowl games in the future

If they paid them to play this opting out would be reduced. But I understand your point that if you have made a commitment to play, you should play.

If kids are signing contracts, do the contracts allow them to opt out of bowls?

That’s unlikely since the conferences are contractually obligated and it’s not the same for individual players who the team doesn’t have to play. It’s pretty funny you guys are whining about a meaningless exhibition game that no one will care about or remember

I have a solution. LSU needs to play in meaningful playoff games

CFB is beyond broken.

They should just create a 30 team league that college kids can play on. The San Antonio Bandits, Portland Sea Captains, Tulsa Rockets, Birmingham Gumps, etc. Let the best of the best play a 15 game season where they get paid and there is a playoff and championship.

College goes back to the bowl system, kids get a scholarship and a stipend and can’t accept any other money. Conferences can’t be any bigger than 12 teams and have to have regionally. Transfer portal opens for two weeks the last week of December and kids can transfer once without sitting out. After that you have to sit out a year and it counts towards your eligibility which can be 5 years max.

You're certainly right about that.

Cute but they don’t care about players opting out or consider them “bad teammates” only the message jockeys that never played do

I think anyone that opts out should have to pay back a certain amount of NIL money.

As it sits, that is a strong option for guys going into NFL or portal. HOWEVER since we are in the world of College Pro Sports, there needs to be contracts when you pay a player, that defines his commitment. You get paid 1 mill 5 mill for the year, then you play all games. You can't opt out. If you do you agree to give back half your salary. or NIL. That will do it.

“Opt out” is too kind. They are the worse kind of quitters. They cut and run while their brothers are still in battle.
