This team has few players who would start elsewhere and probably not one single lineman of any description. This club gets its A$$ whipped on both lines of scrimmage. They SUCK!

It’s because ND didn’t play in the sec.

Yeah they would win some tough games here and there then get smashed.

If those teams had to run the sec gauntlet he would have had less wins. It’s just the truth.

What did Brian Kelly do before LSU that led you to believe he was going to do great things at LSU?

Looks as though He was here for his final payday Lazy hires, his commitment to the program is questionable at best. He seems like he’s checked out and doesn’t get our commitment to LSU football. The spoiled fans comment was it for me. He’s clueless. We have had one good year since 2011, we understand good football and he hasn’t provided it since he’s been here. There have been very few games that you can watch his teams and say they look like a well coached team.
He’s ready to ride off with his 50+ million and never look back. That’s what it was about from the start

1/3 of his teams at Notre Dame lost 5 games or more, another was a 9-4 squad that went 1-3 v ranked teams.

Notre dame feasts on well laid out schedules with a few challenges and a bunch of punching bags in between. They start every year ranked, often high, and get the benefit of the doubt with every loss, not dropping much so they can move back up to where they were after a few cupcakes.

Ed Orgeron is the worst coach in Ole Miss history by a wide margin. None of that about Kelly really compares.

Kelly became complacent, lazy, and unmotivated. He also was not innovative or energetic enough to successfully adapt to the new CFB recruiting and business model.

I think this is closest to the truth. He didn’t work hard enough to prepare his teams or coaching staff and is apparently incapable of understanding that’s what he was hired to do. A good CEO knows and owns the final product, BK thinks it means he gets tee times when and wherever he wants.

He can't evaluate his own players....one big mistake was in the portal....he gets all these players at various positions on offense and defense but one very important position has been the downfall of the offense and that is the offensive tackle position. He should have went even deeper into the portal for several experienced offensive tackles that would be the starters while these that are playing now would have time to develop.

This is an excellent question and the answers will be dizzyingly multiple. To learn for next time woodward has to come to grips with the “many why’s” of failure. We must look at both what Kelly lacks and at the virtues we didn’t recognize in the other options.

I think the SEC is just more competitive than he realized it would be, to win against the actual best every other week all season. He beat Bama year one. Beat clemson this year. Following up with Ole miss, anm, Oklahoma, a good Vanderbilt? Too much.

Kelly’s teams have only had to get up for 3 or so games per season. He had plenty of time to rehab injured players, and never had to TRULY coach and develop the best-of-the-best players week to week, balls out hair on fire under threat of getting destroyed on the field 10 times per season. He wasn’t prepared for it, and was too old and ingrained to adjust to it.

In short, he’s not an SEC caliber coach. And never will be.

Something stunk when the defensive staff did not come. He hasn't had a decent staff since he's been here.

He wasn’t interested in adapting to the SEC. He assumed he knew more about winning college football games than the ignorant rednecks in the South.

SEC is a different beast. Huge difference playing 7-8 elite teams every season vs maybe 2 during like you do in all the other conferences. That's why Kelly, Jimbo and Bielema had tons of success elsewhere but failed in the SEC. If PSU or VT hired Kelly, he'll start racking up wins again and make them instant contenders.
