Call me a pumper all you want, kid took all kinds of s**t from the fans (a lot of it deserved, yes) but he regressed dramatically. I've never seen an uninjured tiger play so poorly after what was a pretty decent campaign the year before.

Things that will help:

-He's motivated, bigly. I doubt anyone wants to forget 2020 more than him and move on. He has a lot to prove, I think he will.

-The D line will be nasty and open up all kinds of opportunities for him to make plays.

-He's pretty fast, never forgot how to run, I could see him coming up big on a few blitz packages.

-Anybody is better than Bo Pelini, only direction is up.

What say you, rant? Downvote away....

Hope so, the scheme we ran last year was just god awful. With lineman shooting gaps taking themselves out of the play and linebackers not showing up to fill the open gaps.

He also loafed a lot last year.

He looked lost last year, obviously Pelini was the major issue. Clark has all tangibles to be an absolute wreaking machine if the right coaching can bring those tangibles together.

There’s never been a question as to his athleticism. His issue, and it was an issue under Aranda as well, is that he hesitates too much and is scared to make a play.

I’ve posted this before:

If we could take Baskerville’s mindset on the field and combine it with Clark’s athleticism, we’d have an all American LB. As it is, we’ve got one “looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane” LB and one LB who wants to be involved in every single play with his head on the ball but doesn’t have the athleticism to do it.

I think it is safe to say that Damone will NOT mention Bo Pellini when Damone is inducted into the NFL HoF!

I think the addition of Mike Jones Jr is going to help Clark. Clark is better in run support and struggles in pass protection. Jones is the exact opposite. They will complement each other.

Basically the same defense he played in high school. He'll be fine.

That's a hell of a prediction because it is impossible for him to play worse!

If the coaches can identify what he did well in 2019 and have him do that, but if they ask him to do what he did last year or in spring then I just hope he can be average when he is backing up Baskerville or Jones or Strong.

He was out of position the entire spring game which was his whole problem all of 2020. Geaux rewatch it. He’s an athlete and a great pass rusher but he is not an every down linebacker.

Personally hoping Mike Jones and Bug Strong are our two starters. And thumper and a great coverage guy would be the perfect combo in our base 4-2-5

Physically, that dude has first round talent. If he can get that part between his two ears working, he'll have a killer season and a long and lucrative NFL career.

Oh yeah, if he can't get that part between his two ears working, then lets turn him into a pass rush specialist where he doesn't have to use that part between his two ears.

I’m wondering if he was just better off as a 3-4 outside linebacker...that’s where he seemed to have the most success...the F linebacker in Aranda’s system
