I agree! I think he brings toughness, work ethic and an over all winning team first culture that will pay big dividends for UF going forward. Bottom line, he’s going to rebuild Florida into a top tier SEC program that no one will want to see on their schedule!

Sumrall is not a proven coach! He might turn out to be good but who knows.

Going from Tulane to LSU is not what I was hoping for LSU. I think he will be fired and gone from Florida in a few years. Lane is a proven coach over many years. I’m glad we didn’t settle for Sumrall.

Its like copy paste from when Florida hired Billy. So many here and Guilbeau said how he was the hire LSU should have made blah blah, how did that turn out. As bad as Kelly was here, Billy was worse at Florida.
Lets sit back and wait 3-5 years and see how things turn out.

Sumrall may be a great coach but he needs to complete a full season with injuries and hard teams to beat before we start fully anointing him.
Same can be said about Lane at LSU, even though he proved to do it at OM.

Everyone has an opinion. I don’t think it’s fair to compare him to Billy Napier, since the only thing they have in common prior to being hired at UF is that they don’t have HC experience at a P4 school. my heart hopes he and UF are going to fail, but my mind says he won’t!

Sumrall hasn’t proven anything yet other than he can coach at Troy and Tulane. That’s definitely respectable no doubt, but a top 20 program is a different story. My mind tells me he will not make it there more than a few years.

Yep. I think Florida may be in good hands again unfortunately. They will be an issue going forward likely.

At HOME. If the Ole Piss game was in Baton Rouge we would have won. We had to go on the road in our first SEC game of the year (thanks Birmingham....) and play in their "Superbowl". And we STILL almost still pulled it off in Oxford, I think LSU is still the better team. Give us Ole Miss again at home or neutral site and we win.
