I don't hate Orgeron at all. I think he's got a chance to have a damn good season this year.

If you wanted to prove he's not an embarrassment, all you had to do was list his accomplishments. I don't understand the need to gear down the all time winningest head coach to try to prove your point. Seems hypocritical to me.

Coaches come and go. I’m already an LSU fan. Don’t need some come to jesus moment for O. If he wins he will get to keep coaching LSU and I get to watch them win. Nothing I say or do from my couch affects the team. Obviously.

Only bitches ask for links for every single point. It’s a cheap way of bogging down someone getting the better of you.

You should really stop trying. I've never said Coach O was an embarrassment. If I had, it should be really easy to find it using the search feature.

Someone else was the one that said it in this thread.

O has done some good things. It hasn’t been as bad as some make it. He wanted E all along and now he has his man calling plays He never wanted Canada. He has some brutal losses but some decent wins as well. He beat Lamar and UL but gave away one to ND. Obviously Troy and State were tough but he was able to do what Miles couldn’t in recent years after a Bama loss. Down year and all but 5 Sec road games is still tough and he went 6-2. 9’wins n year one is still decent. A lot of HC’s don’t win 9 n their first season. He did what he had to revamp the roster and got the coaches he wanted. Everything’s in place now just win baby

He's not just loading up with a bunch of 5 and 4 star wide receivers, running backs and defensive backs like Miles used to, which inflated some of his class rankings. He's recruiting a balanced team and loading up with beef on both sides of the ball.

Go look at the top players last cycle and look at the top 5 committed rt now.

WHAT??? You said more accomplished.... That's fine by me.. But he came in with some serious talent and did well..........

Saban has one year with less than three losses. If we had such serious talent, how come he didn’t win more?

Yet guy in year two is an embarrassment?
Never stop rantards

Guy in year two did something Miles only did once in 11.33 seasons in losing to an OOC in the regular season. Miles did it to a top-10 Wisconsin team on the road. And he was fired in part because of it.

The other guy lost to fricking Troy. Troy!!! FFS! Troy? Seriously? Unfortunately yes...

I could give two shits how Miles fricked with the media (which is what he was doing - anyone who says he's an idiot show me proof you've ever made $4+ million in a single year to qualify your opinion). Miles never lost to the Troy's of the world, and he certainly wouldn't have lost that '16 game to Florida. We might have needed a 4th down conversion, fage field goal or other trickery to do it, but Les would have found a way to pull it out.

If Miles finishes 2016 the other other loss I see is to Bama, and with Miles you never knew when he'd pull a magic rabbit out of of his arse and win one he's not supposed to.

He did beat Saban more than any other coach since Saban has been at Bama. Saban considered him his most worthy adversary (as evidenced that he scheduled Bama's bye before the LSU game every year since I can remember). I doubt think Nick Saban thinks Miles is an idiot. Why would he make sure his team gave their best effort of the season every year if he didn't consider LSU a real threat to beat him?

Last year at worst Miles finishes one game better, possibly more. He doesn't lose the Troy game. I see a Les team winning a close one against that Miss State team. Alabama I'd put at 70/30 loss/win and Notre Dame I'd put at 70/30 win/loss assuming Les is coach.

So if my projections are accurate (and they probably are), Les's teams would have finished 9-3 in '16 and as well as 12-1 or 11-2 with a remote shot at 13-0 and a playoff birth.

The fact is it was a horrible mistake to fire him and that is the elephant in the room that nobody wants to acknowledge.

Alleva knew that the 2016 schedule was top-heavy and the 2017 schedule a joke compared to most years. If he didn't fire Les when he did, Les wouldn't have allowed him to hevause he'd have only lost 1-3 games since he was fired.

Even the typical Miles pitfalls were too bad the past two years to issue a serious challenge.

You people ran off the most successful coach in history who was poised to return the program back to the top of the SEC and replaced him with his own D-Line coach. FFS, if Anthony Jennings or Brandon Harris are your quarterback and Leonard Fournette and/or Derrious Guice is in your backfield, you give them the ball and let them make plays. For the most part it worked.

Nobody knew how good Wisconsin was and if we're being honest we got shafted at Jordan-Hare. If they let the ball be snapped without throwing a flag the play stands. They made uo rules as they went along and ultimately robbed us of a win (not to mention failing to stop the clock on first downs and runs OOB on the would-be winning drive). If they're going to review everything why not go back a whole minute to see how much time really should've been on the clock?

Assume a Bama loss and if LSU isn't robbed of a win for the second time since 2006 (it must be a once-a-decade thing for Auburn), Les is 10-2 the year he's fired. Even being assessed a loss in a game his team legitimately won. He's still 9-3. No way he loses to Troy or last year's ND teams.

So we fired a guy who would have been anywhere from 1-3 games better than his successors just because fans wanted to see the backup get a chance. Nice going guys!

I just hope whoever the AD is eho promotes the next coach promotes from within again and makes Aranda HC. Speaking of, had Les gotten him when he wanted him he may not have given Alleva a chamce to fire him in '16. 16 points (what we scored against Alabama in '15) would have been enough to win in '16, just saying. Plus, there's no way an Aranda Defense gives up 31 and 38 respectively to middle-of-the-pack teams.

Alleva had it in for Miles because his feelings got hurt when Miles did what all coaches and agents do and leveraged another offer for more money. Everything else and since has been PR spin to justify firing a guy who won the SEC 3 times, played in the NC twice and won it once.

He would have won the other if not for Bama privilege and the '11 team foes down as the best in MCAA history.

frick Alleva. Best of Luck to Orgeron and his assistants, but frick Alleva for running that guy off and then selling it with as much success as he has.

ETA: Aware of typos, DGAF.

Does it really matter??? Saban built this house and Miles rode the coattails.. Miles did A fine job but could not come in here in 2000 and build what Saban built... He is not that type of guy.....

That's extremely illogical thinking but coming from the poster I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Let's assume you're 100% right. If that's the case, Les built the house in Stillwater, and Mike Gundy rode his coattales to a 13-1 record and what should have been an appearance in the NC game.

No? Ok, fine. Then admit Miles built the greatest LSU team in history from top-to-bottom, and had he gotten to play Gundy's team in the NC would be remembered as the coach of the most dominant college team in the modern era.

Recruiting for next year is great but it won’t stay that way if we don’t have a good year. He needs to prove it to me on the field first.

It's a way to discredit Miles's recruiting. Only way for O to look better is to say Miles's classes were overvalued. Yet we have the most guys in the NFL, from the strength of his classes.

Guys like Ree have been the main propagandists spouting that nonsense and unfortunately some have fallen for it.

There is still a 5 star OT and a 4 star OT most likely committing. Plus a 5 star DT. Like I said, some major beef is coming. Not just starter material, star material. And that 5 star guard we got is going to be an All American.

If he closes with those guys than that’s huge and a great change of direction,

But last years class was proper up by 2 WR and a DB.

We’re not even a top 20 class without those guys.
