Brain farts by those who make $3 million a year are unacceptable. That's whey they get the big money. Brain farts are why they lose the big money.

Back on the bandwagon is a little strong. Willing to ask my fellow parade watchers to put down the eggs and rotten tomatoes, rather than throwing them at the bandwagon, is more like it.
But I must have heard a different press conference than most on that thread. I didn't hear the prevarication or throwing folks under the bus, as many seemed to have done. Granted, I respect the "wisdom of crowds" and I typically trust what 100 people hear and see over the observation of a few, but I also have spent a lot of time in my career listening to people, hearing what is or isn't said, and acting upon it. I'm not happy about some of what I heard (such as startling admissions of issues that had not been prepared for or for which no one had responsibility assigned), but I'm not throwing up about it as many seem to be. And, I am ready to move on for now. (If I don't, I'm in a heap of trouble; one of my collegues from Austin called this morning just to make sure that I was ok.)

I think Saban's Arkansas 2002 last minute coaching debacle was far worse than this, and it meant more. It took our virtually punched SECCG ticket and shredded it.

It was not a brain fart. It was a series of terrible decisions and mistakes.
and heks been making the same mistakes for years.

The man said he mismanaged the back end of the game and cost his team a chance to win. Sounds like taking responsibility to me. Said he liked the three pass calls, which scares me, but even so, the final killer was the 17 elapsed seconds off the play clock. He calls a TO with 26 seconds remaining and the crappy passes are probably a moot point.
Anyway, I've always been a Miles fan, but after Saturday all I can say is: Les, you're on double probation, and it's not even secret probation. Show us you're worth $3.5 million the rest of this season and next, or adios. At this point 2010 is a grace year, so use it well. Otherwise, it should be your last year at LSU.

You guys are getting flamed by some homer from TCU. Ignore the little horned frog and let him enjoy his teams one out of 150 year stint in the top 10!

I've accepted that he's not going anywhere, and calling for his head isn't going to make any difference. The press conference was probably the best thing he could've done at this point; however, I still don't know if I believe him about the "clock it" motion in the video, or what the hell he was talking about with not having time to get the FG unit on when he says it takes 12 seconds.
One thing for sure, he is not out of the woods yet. This press conference was the first step, but IMO he needs to do these things to get my personal support back:
1. Blow out Arkansas
2. Blow out whoever it is in the bowl game
3. Come back next year and win the SEC West in the dominating way Bama won it this year.

Yes we all have brain farts, but Les Miles is getting paid 4 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR!!!!! With the non use of our superb talent that we have, we are not getting much return on our $4 MILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT!!!!!
Time to move on Les.
Time to move on Les.

And he doesn't have any consequences, or maybe the massive media fallout from this is not really a consequence. He isn't getting fired, but he knows he is in a tight spot right now.
Also, I never really left the bandwagon, but I was previously only holding onto the bumper and riding a skate board.

that was a players fault. Saban wasn't back there guarding Robert Johnson.

you can only win on talent alone for so long, some coaching has to be done sooner or later and his coaching is not right for SEC football, hes a big ten coach and quite frankly the SEC kills the Big Ten. It is a ashame that he will be back next year because they have coaches out there that would be perfect for LSU (Jim Harbaugh). and to all those who predicted 9-3 or 10-2, it doesnt matter if we go 9-3, its the way we are losing and winning games, If you can hold Florida to 13 points, you should be able to win that game and you should be able to put Bama away but when you are right behind TULANE and right in front of vanderbilt on offense with the talent we have, it disgusting to see how this program is going back down when it should be at the top of mountain.

thelawisafterme????
He is paid 3.8Million to perform a task. He cannot perform the task whether he is being paid 1 dollar or 3.8 million dollars.
Most Every High School Coach in America would have:
Not Tried to pass with a high likelihood of a sack.
Had the field goal unit ready to run on the field at a moments notice.
Not burned 16 seconds off the clock before calling for t.o.
Not have been running up and down the sidelines waiting for the Headphones to tell him what to do.
And finally turn to their security escort and inquire about the # of timeouts left.
It is a comedy of errors, death by a thousand cuts, a person in over their heads...
I just wish Miles would have asked the Trooper to call the last 3 plays and get out with a win.

At $4 million per season

I'm afraid I have been vacillating back and forth too much since 2007. He's got them ready and rolling one game and the next week we look like all their football knowledge fell out of their heads. It's the lack of consistency on both sides of the ball. Perfection is not what I'm asking or demanding, just give us what we paid for and get rid of the coaches that are not doing their jobs. I'm tired of our season always riding on one game and catastrophe syndrome rearing it's head every year after the bama game. This is not the big ten.

You and boat are both idiots. He lost the team..... Again and next years team will be worse on defense (new LB's & thin DL) and the same or maybe, dare I say it, worse on offense without lafell, Scott, and black! Other than clearing out the co-dc's from last year, Les Miles Does not adapt and overcome, he does not change game plans mid stream. He obviously is not mentally there in the game. UGA and ole miss are just recent examples.
