It’s good for Louisiana when Tulane has a competitive athletic program
That is a totally false narrative held by the very few toolame “fans” and the local media.

Why is the proximity of your home a requirement of the school/team you cheer for?
Also, if you do use local proximity to pick your team(s), and you lived somewhere for 20+ years, according to this order you should automatically start liking a different team if your profession takes you to a new city?

My son could play for Tulane and I’m still pulling for the Tigers. Not my fault he didn’t practice hard enough to play for LSU.

I hope you had a good Shavuot…or enjoy the upcoming Dragon Boat festival.

Neither, actually. Clever though, I had to Google wtf Shavuot is.

Because when you move to a new city where you have no real rooting for the local team, it is an easy way to make friends and get into the culture. I've made good friends that came into BR from all over to work in the plants and elsewhere. One went to Illinois for undergrad, Indiana for law school and now roots for LSU in all other cases because he's put down roots.

I guess there could be some wiggle room with 3 and 4, sure.

Why is this false? I'd love to hear why the state's top academic university being terrible at sports in some how good for the state's image.

Watching them beat USC in the Cotton Bowl was up there with watching LSU beat Bama in Tiger Stadium for me. It's just really cool see.
I'm LSU to the core, 2 degrees and a life long fan. That game was epic, I wanted Tulane to win so badly.

Same but opposite. Undergrad at LSU and MBA at Tulane.
I'm rooting for LSU to 10-run rule them.
