Since you made this ridiculously early call-out thread, Gio has hit:
206/342/345
6-29
BB: 6 (16%)
Hr:1
2B: 1
9k(24%)
Average is down to .286
It’s funny, because my take on him wasn’t even wild or insulting. In fact you agreed with me in the thread you linked when I said he’s more of a .320 hitter, best case. This whole thread was a clown move on your part lmao

Won’t even get into that he’s just been ok defensively. Even in a less demanding spot than CF

It never too early for Jack

There’s nothing to rumble about. He’s a generic 4th OF type being forced to play because LSU has 1.5 SEC quality OF’ers that are available right now.
I just hope he continues to flash some power & draw walks like he has.

I was not allowed to post or I would have. Trust me.

My apologies. Banned for what?

I just wanna know who downvoted my "Gio and Milazzo are stud players inherited from last years team too" post.

Disagree. Unless you agree that every SEC team right now only has 1.5 good OF's.

Who would you put out there if not Gio?
Stevenson or Pearson?

I'm curious to see the RHP/LHP split. Feels like CJJ has been leaving him in vs LHPs lately which has been the reason for the drop. Unfortunately we really don't have a good option to put in his place vs lefties so I'm not sure it matters.

I dont even know what that means Adam.
My standard is always what would play on LSU's good teams. Which is just about every year.
This isn't LSU's standard OF, the same way the standard is not what it should be at positions like SS and Catcher.
Gio is the prototypical 4th OF. Can spot start against RHP or stop-gap start for a few games if someone is injured. He can pinch hit, go into games late for defense, pinch run, etc.

He replied in another thread that he thinks Bianco or Merrifield need to be given a shot in RF...

I think he likes Pearson's bat but doesnt trust him in the field.
I think he likes Stevenson's glove more but doesn't exactly think of him as a threat yet at the plate.
All 3 guys are lefthanded which put you at a disadvantage vs LH.
There just aren't a ton of good options, which is why Gio is playing to begin with. Id try Bianco for a weeekend, see how he hits with some starts under his belt, and not just off the bench cold. Jack Merrifield is on the bench too if he can somehow play the OF, IDK.

Bianco is an an option in the outfield but he hasn't been 100% and even if he was Drew has never been an average hitter at LSU...and you lose range defensively. There's nothing he brings besides occasional that Gio doesn't already provide.
Merrifield has been too stiff defensively (even for 3B standards) and doesn't possess enough range to be put anywhere in the outfield with the other options LSU has right now in Pearson and Stevenson.

Bianco hit something like 270/400/470 from SEC play through the postseason last year

yea, no.

besides power, stronger OF throwing arm, and not being an automatic out vs LH pitching, yea.
