Not monetarily.

Add more varsity sports.

Men's soccer would probably be most popular.

Rugby would be awesome. (LSU rugby is already consistently top 15 in the nation, if made varsity we could easily jump into the top 5.)

Title IX so with the men's sport add something like women's lacrosse or water polo. Or women's rugby too.

I would love a rugby program. Maybe we could add equestrian for the women so we can recruit hot rich skanks across the country.

The problem is that it would inevitably lead to tigerdropping's worst nightmare: more price increases.

We could probably accomplish it without price increases if our pathetic state government didn't force our AD to allocate 35 million to the academic side.

I am pretty positive Alleva is an outspoken advocate for this. wouldn't AD wouldnt?

Only in a perfect world. You would be hard pressed to find any major athletic program not charge for premium seating. We have a family friend drop 75 grand at A&M just so his daughter could have a good parking spot on campus. Hell, even Ole Miss charges premium seating

that's fair. with the North being the way it is with weather, we should get Indiana, Ohio State, and Michigan to come down to the box on a regular basis.

Pretty sure we have the Minute Maid classic and a solid series or two on the schedule next season. that's progress at least.

As far as your traffic proposal, it's a good idea. he is at least trying. It's difficult to blame the guy for Baton Rouge's infrastructure being prehistoric...

id like to see us bring in a small ball good team like UCI or such, Id also be ok with a good northern team.

I agree can't blame him for the terrible infrastructure but last year he paid a lot for a failed plan

This plus instead of turning the land the old Alex box stood on into a parking lot, I would put a first class LSU Hall of Fame there

Okay but that's a prime spot for a great HOF and you could still do the mixed use stuff

Overall, I think Alleva has been great. I have no idea why the majority of this board can't stand him.

1) He stresses the importance of academic excellence to our student athletes

2) Financials are great

3) Toonces is dead

4) Tiger Stadium has greatly improved under his tenure even though I'm not a fan of his recent west renovations

4) He continues to upgrade all facilities. (I do wish he'd put together a 15-30 year Facility Master Plan similar to Long at Arkansas LINK I believe it could motivate fans & alumni to donate more.

Me neither, which is why I started the thread. So far I am pretty disappointed the die hard Alleva haters haven't swarmed this thread.
