I don't think we ever will because we just aren't a men's BB college.
This is such a tired argument. Is Indiana a football college now? They did just win the NC. Was Florida a MBB college prior to Billy Donovan, and now Todd Golden? Was Duke basketball a powerhouse or a bottom dweller prior to Coach K’s 4th season? This list can go on for pages.

Things change and coaching absolutely matters, both in results, interest in the program and fund raising. We have zero of the 3 currently, specifically because of the current coach’s inability and lack of desire to drum up interest or fund raise.

I have been a MBB season ticket holder since 1976. THIS SEASON is the first time I cannot even go to the games. I haven't been to a game since the first half of the State game on Jan 28. Wont be there for the last two either.

But...hope springs eternal and we will be back in 26-27 even if LSU allows MM another season. Would really like Will Wade back but I just do not think WW would chose to come back here even though he has pals in our administration.

We're football, baseball, gymnastics and just can't put together the winning thing for men's BB.

LSU was never a "baseball schools"...until the right HC came along. No one really cared much about gymnastics...until LSU starting winning. The PMAC was empty when Fargas was the WBB coach. It filled up when Mulkey became the coach. Is that because the fanbase collectively decided LSU was going to be a "WBB school?". Or is it because Mulkey won and the fans followed?

The marketplace in MBB is highly competitive because their are many competitors in the marketplace. I like baseball. But the amount of schools in the market who genuinely put resources into their programs is pretty small.

The right coach makes a school (insert sport) school. There is no better example of that right now than Indiana. Indiana did not collectively decide it was going to spend a ton of money on football THEN hire Cignetti. They first hired the right HC. The success, interest, and financial support then followed.

Let the administration know this.

Except for a period during the Dale Brown era, LSU has never been a basketball school. I’d rather put the money elsewhere. There are so many other sports at LSU to cheer about and invest in. Just my opinion.

Of course I’ve watched some. But the last four years I’ve checked out completely once baseball starts.

Midweek games vs Nicholls, Grambling, and McNeese is more appealing to me than basketball games vs UK, Florida, Auburn

This!!

People have made Will Wade a martyr and put their fanboy love of the guy above their support for LSU. That's not to say they don't still love LSU, it just means their loyalty has gone awry. That and they're living in the past. What is done can't be undone. The last 3 seasons are dead and this one is DOA.

That said, the McMahon experiment should end this year. He didn't seem like a bad hire on paper and many thought we were going to struggle to find a good candidate with the uncertainty possible sanctions on the program and fallout from Wade's departure.

McNeese took a small chance with Wade. It was a no lose for them. They're fricken McNeese but NC State good an even bigger chance on Wade. Is he going to reward them with a "one and done"? If he does, he'll be what Kiffin was to Tennessee in 2009.

If he does return, I'm sure he'll breathe some desperately need fire into the program.
