LSU honestly should be, if ever healthy, a much better team.. but it almost seems like we are cursed

Might have something to do with the way the program is being managed

Do you even know who is on the team or coming in. Garza beloso Bianco Willis cabrera etc are not small guys. Our small guys like josh smith are gone. Doughty above 6 foot. travinski 6’3. Hopefully Hughes never sees the field and we will have a lineup with digiacomo as our speed guy to play cf and the rest well built guys.

We’ll miss Smith and Duplantis, but everyone else can be replaced. Time for the young arms and young position players to deliver.

You’re high off your arse if you think Mainieri isn’t going to trot Hal fricking Hughes out there.

And he needs to make Cabrera earn his spot. Anemic is a good word to describe his play at the plate.

I get a full offseason of hearing about Nick Storz though. Can’t wait.

Nick Storz hit 110 on the gun in the Cape Fear league.

We haven’t had a healthy staff for two years.

I don't think this is an LSU problem after they arrive to campus. Kids today ages 7-17 are throwing so many innings through rec, travel, and school ball that they have arms entering college of 30 year olds and they aren't developed and equipped to handle the stress. Really interested to see if recruiting is an issue and if coaches are asking those questions of how much these kids are pitching before they get to campus.

2B and 3B look terrible without massive bumps in production. RF looks kinda okay, but still worrisome. Cabrera was horrible for the last month+ and didn't build off a very good freshman season. And then you have Doughty and Hampton who you hope come in hot.

That leaves 2 regulars - Garza and Beloso - who A) played a lot this year, and B) showed they could handle starting in the SEC. And neither was outstanding.

Have to disagree. We played mostly freshmen and sophomores. We will be great .IF we lose three coaches. Hitting , pitching, and third base.

The cupboard is most definitely not bare. The least two recruiting classes have been loaded. Just a matter of finding the right 9 and hoping they stay healthy.

If they could figure out how to keep arms healthy they’ll be better imo

Do you see anything in recent history that says they can do that?

Hope no LSU pitcher is allowed to go pitch the rest of the summer.
But I can’t wait for the reports of Hal Hughes, Gio, Cabrera et al tearing up the Cape Cod League at the plate.

At Bats:
Dugas 43
Willis 52
Bianco 68

For reference Dups had 270

Once they get consistent playing time they will be much better
I am not worried about any of those 3, especially Willis

How many said the same about Hughes and Broussard? They could just as easily hit in the low .220s.

Or maybe they're perfectly serviceable hitters. But you need multiple guys to step up and be good hitters because at this time, there aren't any you can rely on in next year's starting lineup.
