It's interesting how Tiger fans from different eras see things differently. Those memories of great games in the 50s, 60s, and 70s may have much more meaning to those Tigers than 2011 simply because it was their time during their life. Sure 2011 was a painful pill to swallow and it still irks me today, but for the older Tigers there were other great games that are embedded in their memories as well. Those are the stories that you pass down to your grand children.

So many breaks and calls went against us that game. The score does not reflect how close that game actually was.

I listened, heart-broken at the outcome, to the 1979 game on the radio. We had it won and the improbable facemask call on defense gave the Trojans and White another chance.

Oklahoma State v Iowa State. 2011 rematch doesn't happen and LSU destroys the Cowboys in New Orleans.

I believe we would have beat Texas and won the NC in 69 but I also believe 2012 did more damage and allowed alabama to separate further from us than 2011, so I say 2012.

2011, but only because it would have meant another Natty.

The one that hurts to this day is 1979 USC.

2011. LM should have been fired immediately after that debacle.

Jamarcus got too much credit for his comebacks and not enough blame for his turnover prone performances. The fumbled snap on the goal line was an absolute momentum destroyer. We didn't deserve to win. Hester did score on the previous play though ;)

2011, obviously. Adds an undefeated NC and likely changes the entire course of the SEC over the next decade. That defense deserved a championship.

Disgusting offensive gameplan and gameday coaching by Miles that fateful evening.

I saw all 4 of those extremely disappointing losses in person. The 2012 loss was the one I would change because it was the BCS championship game and came after such a great regular season by the Tigers. The 1979 USC loss was the only one played in Tiger Stadium with its electric atmosphere. That team was inspired by the loudness of the Tiger fans and played their hearts out against a much more talented team. And the USC offensive line moved before the snap on the play the face mask penalty was called that kept the USC game winning drive going. Definitely an experience you don’t ever forget if you were there to see it. The 1969 loss second most disappointing to me as that team would have played for a national championship with a win. I’d add the 2006 loss to Auburn in the worst officiated game that I have ever witnessed.

1/9/2012 100%.

A close second would be the 2012 game against Bama and the '06 LSU @ Auburn game.
