Yep and Les always would lay an egg during big games. That Georgia team was loaded with talent.

1. 2012 Alabama - NC game
2. 1959 Tennessee - would have given LSU an undefeated regular season and likely led to back to back NC’s. Even if LSU still played and lost to Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl the National Champions were determined prior to the bowl game!

All of the above make my top 5

Was this the game that many Tiger fans and players insist officials made a horrible call saying the runner did not score a touchdown when he really did?

1959 Tennessee. It would have been back to back Nattys.
Billy Cannon insisted that he scored the 2 points

If Kaleb Jackson catches the ball from Daniels that hits right in the hands against Ole Piss I think 2023 we probably make the CF playoffs.

All I remember was 3rd and 2 and I told my dad he’s going to run up the middle and everyone knows it. And then it was 4th and 1 and I said he’s gonna run it up the middle again and everyone knows it. Les was one of the most stubborn coaches I’ve ever seen.It was unbelievable.

2011…no question.
1979 USC distant second place…was at this game but too young to remember.

2011, and any other answer is just an exercise in mental gymnastics.
For example, someone stated if LSU beat Ole Miss in 1969 they'd be undefeated and would play for a national championship.
Ok, you can play for one.
vs
2011, we WERE undefeated, and we WERE playing for a national championship. No could have, or likely have, etc. Winner of that game gets the trophy, they ARE the champ. And if that's 2011 LSU, having beat the winners of the Rose, Orange and Cotton bowls (in addition to UGA in the SEC championship, and Alabama in what would have been twice), that team is likely considered the greatest of all time. The 2011 regular season was more impressive than the 2019 regular season.
edit to add:
for those who argue that winning in 2011 somehow negates 2019 from happening, just consider- Joe Burrow left Ohio State. He wasn't lured away by Orgeron, he left because he wasn't going to start.
Nebraska turned him down publicly.
His options were Cincinnati, a mid-major that hadn't made the playoffs yet, or
LSU, a perennial power that was loaded everywhere except QB, and Miles had recently started transfers Mettenberger and Etling.
He almost certainly chooses LSU anyway.

LCBayou your four looks good to me . One I would add is the lost to Tulane in the rain Tiger Stadium 1982 That one hurts

Actually it would be a basketball game, Indiana 77-76 over LSU in the elite 8. Final 4 was in New Orleans that year and we so badly outplayed a more talented Indiana team that day.
For football Florida 2006, we had 4 turnovers, Teebow got way too much credit for his goal line jump pass that was in the air for about 10 second....Gator fans still talk about it..and we had some really tough calls go against us.
69 Ole Miss is a good one that you mention. It was before my time but when I was a kid my Dad would tell me that was the best LSU team in his lifetime, and we let Archie take it from us.

2011, of course. But I didn’t see any mention of the 1960 Sugar Bowl where Ole Miss beat us 21-0 in a replay. Sound familiar?
The 1959 team was awesome. Their only loss was a 14-13 defeat in Knoxville, when Cannon ran for two and didn’t make it - according to the officials. Cannon swore to his dying day that he was across the goal line. He won the Heisman that year on his famous Halloween punt return.
On his TV Coach’s Show during the next week, a woman had written in, asking why LSU had not simply kicked the point and gotten the tie. Paul Diesel, clearly irritated by the question, responded, “Madam, we didn’t go to Tennessee to play for a tie!”
Great stuff. Geaux Tigers!!!

2011 no doubt. History literally would be re-written as far as Saban, Miles, and the Alabama/Saban Dynasty.
Hard to understate how that game springboarded Alabama and started a weird grindy decent for the Mad Hatter.
