Why are you going back 15 years? Who said 15 years? Is this the new measuring stick for a coach?
Try to relook at it by going back 5 years. I know you want to include Sabans first Championship to try and make it look lopsided but we have had a 8-5, 9-4 and a 10-3 season in the last few years and that's what people remember and that's the realistic measuring stick.
Oklahoma was in the playoffs recently...lose to Iowa State. Do you think Riley is in a different situation than O? Do you think he needs to be fired?
I'll give you TCU but I only included them to show that losing to a bad team (IAA) happens.

They didn't win a big 12 title? I clearly stated a few post down from that post that I meant big 12 title.
You can try and discredit me but that only means you are running out of excuses.
Hey! Let's go back 25 years! Will post stats that refute yours. Be right back

There will be young guys playing next year. So I still gont get why that's an excuse this year.
You will lose your top rbs and top wrs. Lose depth on the offensive and defensive line. Lose depth at lb.
The only spot that looks solid is db.
Could actually get worse.

If LSU magically pulls off the miracle upset against Auburn, the season actually is set up for the Tigers to make a nice little run. LSU is finally starting to get a little healthier on the d-line. They should be able to handle Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, and A&M. That would mean a 3-4 loss season. Not great and still a disappointment, but definitely trending in the right direction for next year.

No it wasn’t. He signed way too many fbs, TEs, and specialist and not enough OL and DL then padded his class ranking with a bunch of WRs and DBs

what? when gundy was hired OSU had not won 10 games in over a decade.
Why again does it have to be a decade? Here's what miles did before mullet took over:
4-7
8-5
9-4
7-5
Does that look familiar? It's almost exactly the same 3 years prior to O taking over minus the last year.
Everyone wants LSU to be the program they were in the 2000s. No doubt about that. But instant turn arounds aren't that common. It doesn't mean we don't want it to happen that way, it just means to say our program will never recover after 3 years is just fricking stupid.

He also just blew your "he can't win on the road in the SEC" statements out the water this week and it wasn't just on the road in the SEC, it was a ranked SEC team on the road.
Yeah his ability to coach up our special teams to make their kicker miss that extra point was is on point. He got dem baws rowlin.

Etling is a game manager. He's not going to beat anyone, but he's not going to lose the game either. Brennan is a gun-slinger. He might throw it all over the field, but he's also going to throw it to the other team sometimes too. With LSU's running game and jet sweeps, they feel like the game manager gives them the best chance since he doesn't have to put the team on his back. Brennan is just too risky right now as a true freshman. Myles will have his day in the sun. Let's just give him a season to develop behind Etling before we rush him into the game and Jerret Lee him forever.

I will just have to ASSuMe that you will be miserable for a few more years, as I don't see O going anywhere for at least 3 years....
Getting back to the OP, I think you are right about how experienced we will be except at QB & RB. But, I am really excited about our 2 freshmen QB's. I think having another year to get the offense down, won't hurt, either.
And, as everyone's favorite coach says,
PS: He has to be everyone's favorite, that's all everyone talks about...

quote:People keep forgetting how far LSU has fallen since 2011. Averaging 4 losses a year (3 in conference games) and 3rd in the SEC West. Miles was fired, not only for not beating Bama, but his inability to maintain the program.
none of those teams are even close to program lsu is. good god how the fricking goal posts have been moved
I am not advocating for O, but LSU is exactly on par with these other teams right now.

What are you talking about? You do realize 5 olinemen left right? You also realize for what 10 seasons we ran a 4-3 and guys playing linebacker would be playing on the line. In that old system?
So seems to me the d coordinator and the dline coach then are responsible for recruiting their scheme. Rt?

The HC is ultimately responsible for how many spots they allocate at each position
They signed 2 OL in 14 and no DTs in 15. That’s is not good roster management plus they took way too many grade/character risk at these positions

My biggest question looking forward to the next two years is who will be our RBs?

except that coach had already turned the Cleveland Browns into the #1 defense in the nfl and taken a program coming off sanctions and had a top 10 finish.
Yeah and "that" coach when he came to LSU had two All SEC Quarterbacks, Booty and Davey, to work with. When Miles came to LSU "that coach" left hem two Quarterbacks, JR and Flynn, better than any that MIles recruited and developed his entire tenure.
What do you think Miles legacy would have been if when he came to LSU, Saban had left him an Etling, Harris, or Jennings?
I suspect he wouldn't still be living of the guaranteed money from LSU.

im posting facts. and people usually say conf title.
im sorry you were wrong about the state of the programs upon hiring their unqualified coaches.
what excuses are you talking about?
ed orgeron has proven nothing excrpt his inability to run a successful program.
everyone swore how much he changed and how he learned from his mistakes and just 5 games into the season he had to be sat down and told to get the hell out of the way. yes that gives us real hope
