He tried mixing things up by putting Crews at lead off in the SECT, and that seemed to backfire. Our pitching actually came through but we couldn't getting timely hits to save our life. I would really like to see Tanks hit behind crews again. Here's my lineup.

1. Morgan - 1B
2. Crews - CF
3. Tanks - 3B
4. Travinski - C
5. Beloso - DH
6. Jobert - RF
7. Dugas - 2B (he is due to come out of his slump)
8. Thompson - SS
9. Pearson - LF

You are stacking your lefties. Can't do that.
1. Morgan - 1B
2. Crews - CF
3. Tanks - 3B
4. Beloso - DH
5. Travinski - C
6. Jobert - RF
7. Thompson - SS
8. Pearson - LF
9. Dugas - 2B

What if they hit LHP well? Can't stand that line of thinking.

This. I don’t understand the lefty on lefty obsession. If you’re proven to still be able to effectively hit it, you’re in the line up regardless of arm the other team rolls out.

I'm not opposed to getting Jones some at bats in a SEC less ncaa regional
LSU has had more success with Crews and Tanks batting back to back so I would go back to the well with that

You have a point. Morgan has a long history of hitting okay against lefties. Beloso has a good average this year, but it's a small sample size.

I don't mind the Pearson/Morgan combo, but I don't like the Jobert/Beloso one.

I would swap Beloso and Jobert.

Jobert is just hitting much better these days. Crews, White, Travinski Jobert is such a potent 2-5

I think he was just trying to get Crews as many ABs as possible before regionals so he could heat back up. I wouldn't read anything into it, he will probably slide back to get people on base when he's up

I like Morgan leading off with Crews 2nd but if we do that I want Dugas 9th since he's still getting on base a lot and we want people on base before Morgan, Crews, White

Wtf? the only lefties that are stacked are Beloso/Jobert and Pearson/Morgan. And Morgan shreds LHP.

I really like Dugas in the 9-hole. I like having an experienced leadoff hitter in the 9-hole. If we’re ever behind in a game late it feels like we’re at the top of the order. Despite his recent slump he knows how to get on base.

Honestly, I would rather keep Crews at the leadoff spot for right now. It forces teams to at least pitch to him once a game. Which is more than they were pitching to him the rest of the year.

Once he gets things going he will be on base all the damn time with Morgan, White and Travinski coming to the plate which will be very likely we get a run or two when those guys come to the plate with Crews on base.

8. Pearson (or Kling) - LF
9. Thompson - SS

And if Milazzo is catching, drop him down to 9th and put Travinski as DH.

Yes but I think its more important to have White hitting directly behind crews. And I'm not sure that having White in the 2 hole is a good idea. I like the idea of having at least one other person with a good OBP in front of Crews. So when White comes up, he will likely have 2 people on base.

Jobert needs a strong hitter behind him so I’d move him up ahead of Travinsky

crews was 5/13 on the tournament and had 2 RBI.

I think we succeeded I. him heating up, but I think he needs to slide back in the lineup.

Dugas is hurt and not hitting well enough to bat at the top of the order. I’m not up for moving Crews down just because. You could flip Morgan but then you have three straight righties.

Crews CF
Morgan 1B
White 3B
Travinski C
Beloso DH
Dugas 2B
Jobert LF
Thompson SS
Pearson RF

I think we’ll see Crews leading off again.

Jay wants him getting as many ABs as possible and he’s still getting RBI opportunities with guys in the back of the lineup getting on base.

Morgan has struggled in the leadoff spot, I don’t see that happening.
