re: If we go 9-3 next year, are we having this exact same conversation?

I believe LSU fans will have the exact same conversation again until Les Miles brings another SEC championship or retires/is fired.
I do not believe LSU will win another SEC championship under Les Miles so I believe the conversation will persist until Miles retires/is fired in ____.

Here's the problem. Les Miles has been the coach for eleven years. In ten of those years, he's lost two or more games. Three or more each of the last three seasons. There is no logical reason to expect a deviation from the pattern next year. And yet invariably, the Miles proponents offer some medley of excuses to absolve the coach of blame. If we go 9-3 next season, they'll just concoct some new brew of mitigating circumstances and rationalizations. And the cycle will continue unabated. Meanwhile, time passes, other teams win titles, and LSU FB slips into a deep and boring stupor. That, sadly, appears to be the state of things.

Come on dude, you know it's a lot deeper than that this time more than ever before. Sure, a few would complain no matter what, but the fact is next year are we still going to hear the 'young QB' or 'young team' b.s.?

It really depends on the losses and how they happened.

We have it and there is a lower buyout
By how much? I was wondering how much finances played into this.

If it is three SEC losses, I will be having it.

Depends.
9-3 with a vastly improved offense, a win over Alabama but a few close losses? No, we're not having this discussion.
9-3 with a vastly improved offense, a loss to Alabama but a crisis of injuries? No, we're not having this discussion.
9-3 with the same offense? Even WITH a win over Alabama, yes, we're having that discussion, IMO.

The one thing we do know is that there is alot of great returning talent coming back next season and the #1 recruiting class. I have a feeling we will see a change in coaching, especially after Les Miles experienced this fiasco.

If the offense is vastly improved and we win over bama the team won't be 9-3. Vastly improved offense and a win over bama you're looking at 11-1 with some bullshite loss to Arky.

No, if there is so much talent and he goes 9-3 he'll be run off for real.

the Miles proponents
These are more than proponents. They are like a Jonestown cult that hangs on every syllable of gibberish that emanates from Leslie's mouth. Just look at the personal and profane attacks that will be aimed at you if you dare to criticize their fearless leader on this board.

I think this conversation starts when Wisconsin goes in dry and remembers not to stop running the ball in the first week of the season.

Maybe it's time for LSU fans to temper expectations and accept mediocrity
Posted on 11/29/15 at 4:39 pm to lynxcat
It's not the record that is frustrating, it is the way we are losing the games.

Or maybe the anti Les faction can never really answer the question of who should replace Les that A. could do better and B. would actually come here. So, who?

If we are irrelevant again in November things could get very very ugly.

FIFY. When we go 9-3 are we having the exact same conversation?
Yes.
Yes.

If those three loses came from any of the following team then yes. Alabama, Florida, Auburn, UGA, and Ole Miss.
