If we end up 9-3 in the regular season..

or 10-3 after the bowls, are you happy with the season result?
L - FSU, Alabama, one other SEC team
W - 9 games
Is this good enough for year 2? Didn't Kelly say it would take 3 years to get back to contention for CFP?

I am already not happy with the result. Not because of wins and losses but because we have taken the field 3-4 times where we were not prepared and inspired to win in the last 15 games and we are starting out that way again this year.

If we go 3-9 in regular season beating Bama, Gay Boys, and ole miss….. I’ll call it a successful season

After the many poor coach decisions and player executions in the FSU debacle, 9-3 or 10-3 sounds somewhat miraculous. I daresay fans would be thrilled.
Granted other SEC teams played more cupcakes (except UF and SC, who both got rolled)--so grain-o-salt this as you must--but those SEC offenses scorched up 40-50 up to 73-point games. LSU had 17 points with 1:30 left in the 4th quarter. MSU, Ole Miss, Auburn will not be pushovers and our team has literally days to reverse course.

I really don’t want to drop more than 1 more game.
And of course I want to beat Alabama. Under no scenario am I conceding an L to them this season.

Reverse course from what, man? They played less than one half of bad football. It was a 17-17 game midway through the 3rd quarter. If Kyren doesn’t drop that 3rd down pass in FSU territory we’re probably leading or at worst tied going into the 4th.
The wheels came off in the 4th quarter. It’s not like we got mauled from start to finish. It’s ok to step back from the ledge

Not happy. It doesn't show progress, but I'm not really pissed about it. As long as 3 losses is the floor for this team moving forward under Kelly and not the ceiling, I'll live. Miles had a couple of 5 loss seasons, I would rather not have those.

Which is even worse. That means you’re capable of playing average to above average football except for the last quarter? That’s the quarter that counts the most.

Kelly won 10 games last year after the two teams before that finished 11-12
Kelly is far from the hot seat.

I will give him (BK) 5 full seasons. My judgment on him comes AFTER 2026. If we are a 9-3 program after that, we'll have a real problem.
The key is to have top 5 recruiting every year. Not there yet for this cycle.

Kelly himself said 3 years so I’m ok with making broad judgements after next season. With that said, there isn’t any reason this team shouldn’t be in the thick of the sec west race this season. It started rough but so did last season.

Kelly’s future relies on the ‘25 and ‘26 recruiting classes…. Louisiana is littered with 5 stars and they need to stay in state.
