This will be the year "conference championships matter" as justification for preventing 2 SEC teams from making the playoffs.

1-loss OU will sneak in at #4 by virtue of winning the Big 12.

You can't convince me this won't happen.

I think utah would jump to 4 (ahead of OU) if they beat oregon convincingly

I think this is exactly what happens. The committee doesn’t want their precious Ohio State against us in Atlanta. They are planning ahead. That’s one reason they’re working so hard to devalue our schedule.

I'm actually worried about this myself. Using this year to tell people that they still care about conference champions. And it would be the biggest crock of shite and lead to an 8 team playoff, which is also good for them. Win win.

no chance they leave out Jalen Hurts. Rinaldi already has the script written

OU won’t escape Baylor again. Hard to beat the same team twice in the same season.

Every I have heard that knows anything about this says we are in regardless. Our only loss would be basically a home game to #4.
We will win but we don’t have to.

No they won't drop to 5. It's pretty obvious that Ohio State and LSU are in a seperate tier than even Clemson to the committee and view those 2 as unequivocally top 4 no matter what outside of historic upset loss where either one gets blown out by at the very least 3 scores.

I watched the ESPN show on the playoff seeding. They stated that if LSU and Ohio St lose they are still in. They also stated that its a must for LSU to win if Utah or Oklahoma wants to get the fourth seed.

I think so too. And it probably wouldn’t matter of LSU was #1 or #2 going into the SECCG. A loss probably knocks us to 5. Esp if the loss is by more than a few points.

I challenge anyone to listen to more college football talk than me

I’ve heard Clay Travis, Marty Smith, Joel Klatt, Cole Cubelic, Finebaum, and more all say this week that LSU is in regardless, baring any 59-0 disaster

I agree 100%

So let's see... if you go by where teams WERE RANKED when they were played:

OU has wins over - #11 Texas, #13 Baylor, #21 OKST

Utah has wins over - #17 ASU

LSU has wins over - #3 ALA, #7 FLA, #9 Texas and #9 AU

IF LSU loses on Saturday it will be to #4 UGA. If OU wins, it will be to a now rank #7 Baylor but has a loss to an unranked Kansas St.

Still don't see OU jumping LSU.
