Can we just go ahead and fire McHallman now? This is a financial disaster either way...

Pouring more resources onto the McMahon dumpster fire is the worst option available.

It’s unfortunately the option that is in SW’s self-interest

It's my opinion he was - but he went in too deep with his Nil Narrative PR campaign, I think he'd have to break some promises to pull out now.

If his reasoning for keeping McMahon was to avoid feeling heat to re-hire Will Wade, we need a new athletic director.

When was the last time an AD absolutely burnt to the ground a major sport at LSU?

I think it’s even worse than that.

I think he’s retaining McMahon to avoid/delay admitting he made a bad hire.

It’s pure self-interest.

The program, the brand, the fans be damned.

And then refused to admit the raging dumpster fire is in fact a dumpster fire…

It wasn't. I think it's pretty obvious that the decision to keep McMahon is strictly a financial decision.

That’s why we have guys on here saying we’re dumping $8mil into NIL.

For the financials.

I feel like Alleva tried with several sports, football included.

There is nothing financially sound about letting an SEC men’s basketball program bottom out. The fact that the team completely quit after the NIL / one more year bubble was floated should tell the story.

He made the decision to keep the dumpster fireman, because he didn't want to admit he made a huge mistake! If they wanted him gone he would be gone look at Villianova they kept that coach for only 2 years and said get out, your not good enough!

Legitimate question, do you think it would be better to fire McMahon and hire a coach while telling him he will have a $1 million budget to fill out an entire team?

Woodward would be going to the boosters that just put out an incredible amount of money for the football team/coaching staff, asking them for $8 million to fire the current basketball staff, millions more for the new staff, then millions more for the players. I'd imagine that's probably not an easy sell. And that's not me defending Woodward or McMahon, that's just reality.

It’s more reasonable to think about 2.5-3M for NIL.

Compared to spending >10M on a buyout + new coach.

With the recent influx of NIL Funds for Football, who’s to say we don’t have a couple mil already sitting in Bayou Traditions collective waiting to go towards MBB?

Woodwards fault.

Bad contact for Orgeron

Bad contract for pelini

Bad contract for McMahon

Bad contract for Kelly.

When does it stop?

tGeneral would probably left for an elite basketball school even if Fatward had hung on. Fatward doesnt have the IQ or gumption to handle an elite coach like CWW
