here's what I said
quote:

Gary said this in the game. a spread offense won't work in the NFL because of this very reason.

quote:

no, you implied that LSU wasn't able to stop Auburn because they were a speed defense.

So you take it that I don't think NFL defenses have speed?

you said this too

quote:

But I keep repeating, the spread is supposed to exploit a speedy, undersized defense by making them react to the misdirection in the backfield.

I don't really care anything about the NFL.

The spread wasn't invented to exploit fast defenses. If anything, it exploits slow defenses. None of what you said makes sense, whether Gary agreed or not.

i never said Bama was going to shut them out. But their 1st half gameplan was money. Can't really argue that.

AUB's D and blocking on offense has them back in the game.

I'm not about to brag on Bama's defensive effort in the 2nd half.

Like I said, I have my money on AUB+4. That's who I am pulling for.

maybe it was because of this

AUB's D and blocking on offense

Just because Bamas first half looked better doesnt mean the defensive game plan was THAT much worse. We held aubie to 24-cant be TOO upset with that.

definitely had something to do with it, but they were being aggressive. They had Newton on his tippy toes. And they were tackling.

our game plan was horrible. Thats just my opinion.

This was also the best punting game i can remember in recent LSU history.

This is just not correct.

First, the spread was made to spread a defense out, and force them to defend the entire field.

Second, it was made for teams who were undersized, that couldn't matchup with bigger teams with big D Linemen, and big LB's. It's designed to get skill guys the ball in space.

Not so fast my friend!!!

Not a direct reply to you, TheBob. I happen to agree with you.

Auburn just took the lead and I couldn't help remember reading that someone said Cam can't beat anyone with his arm....

Mythbusted? I would say so.

and with that, bama's D just gave up the lead and more points than was scored on LSU's D.

GREAT GAME PLAN!

With 12 minutes left to play, Auburn has now scored 4 more points ON THE ROAD against that awesome scheme than they scored AT home against our dumbass coaches.

halftime adjustments on both sides the ball has Auburn where they are at now. kudos to them.

Bama had their number in the 1st half. Anyone who was watching could see that they were attacking Auburn and winning the battle on the LOS.

The 2 long passes have softened them up as well.

I know. We're just fricking with you. But Cam can beat you with his arm, too. That's what makes him so special. If he can stay out on the field and get any kind of rhythm going, he's almost impossible to stop, regardless of scheme.

As bad as LSU's defense played, they gave up less points on the road than Alabama's did at home.

And LSU's QB's played terrible. If we had the QB play then we have now, LSU wins that game.
