We don't have the size up front like Bama does. I cannot stress this enough. Notice how their DL is holding at the point of attack.

We just kept over-reacting and ran ourselves out of position. Other than Nevis, we don't have anyone comparable. Just my 2 cents.

This. Bama's personnel can actually tackle Newton bc they're big enough to.

well, LSU did hold Auburn to a 3 and out to start, but the LSU offense couldn't do shite

this has nothing to do with it. this is just an excuse.

LSU didnt attack Newtown. It had nothing to do with size.

Excuse me. But were we watching the same game?? Because I thought I saw our DEs in the backfield several times one on one with Cam Newton but he just ran through our tackles. Attacking Cam Newton was not out problem. Maintaining lane integrity and keeping Cam Newton inside the pocket, that was our problem.

That was a very big problem versus Auburn, and Ole Miss. Our defensive line is horrible against the spread. They run straight the frick up field, and pretty much take themselves out of plays.

The difference between us and Alabama isn't size. It's coaching. Plain and simple. Notice how Alabama is in great position to make tackles, and they swarm to the ball. Now go back and watch the LSU/Auburn LSU/Ole Miss game. It's generally one on one, and if the LSU player misses a tackle, it's a huge gain. We are just completely out of position versus offenses like this.

Bad coaching versus spread teams.

YOu don't know much about football do you? The LSU defense is a pressure defense. They live on penetration. Alabama is playing read and react concentrating on containment. LSU was up the field and lost contain.

yes, it was.

sitting back and letting a 6'6" 260 man run full speed at you while you are stationary makes it pretty hard to tackle said played.

as a defense, you have to dictate what he can and cannot do. That is what Alabama is doing. LSU let Newton dictate the pace of the game.

I think it's a scheme and personnel difference. We play completely different types of defenses and our best set is with an abundance of safeties and corners. Bama plays a 4 linebacker set and matches up with in this case.

Don't try to talk any truth into these people, giving up 400 yards of rushing would be ok if you jj would have scored more.

I have also heard that LSU doesn't have the line backers to pull that off.

There are people on here that will defend anything

The difference in this game is that Bama can effectively throw the ball.

I think it's being stubborn. We're gonna do what we do, and that's it. Instead of trying to adjust to put ourselves in good situations.
