n fact, correct me if I am wrong but Keke Mingo is actually lighter than Hightower.
He is 23 lbs. lighter than that guy.
Never seen a guy that big play LB full time. Almost looks like a razor thin DT.

Are you being serious here? Our DEs are playing at the same weight as Donta Hightower. In fact, correct me if I am wrong but Keke Mingo is actually lighter than Hightower.
Lavar Edwards, Levingston, Michael Brockers, Agahyere....
Those are small defensive lineman?
Mingo is tiny, but he is also in on pass rush situations.
And Bama doesnt run nearly as much of 3-4 as they did with Cody. Why? Because they dont have a legit nose.
They'll play these "huge LBs" you are talking about at DE, or stand them up and rush them.
besides, spread offense are best defended by fast defenses. That is the whole reason a lot of teams are focusing more on putting their best athletes on defense.
Big, slow defenses do not stand a chance .
Bama, like has LSU, has big, strong, fast athletes on defense.

Gary just said Bama's success today is b/c the D IS ATTACKING CAM...and not giving him time to stutterstep and find his lane

You have to force him to pass.
If he beats you that way, then you tip your hat.
posted about 5 minutes prior to a 70 yard td pass.

Outside of PP Nevis and Kelvin, everybody else is either young or would be lucky to sniff a phone call by a NFL team after the draft is over.

Well if Gary or Verne said something I certainly think we would be smart to stop thinking for ourselves.

I didn't say he couldn't pass.
But you have to play to your team's strengths and the opponents weaknesses.
That pass should have never been completed, fwiw.
also i have money on Auburn today. So it's not like its going to hurt my feelings.

So Gary is wrong and you're right? OK.

oh I know. I was just laughing at the timing.

geauxaddai was quoting Gary earlier
about how fast defenses can't play against spread teams, which makes zero sense in itself.

I get the impression you are arguing just for the sake of it. You quoted 2 defensive tackles (one of them in the 2nd team rotation) and Aghayere who has not been starting over Keke.

Please take a look at this game and tell me how their DL has been aligned most of the time.

Have you not watched these two booth fricks for the last five plus years? They are fricking idiots half the time about this stuff. Now you can go and tell me how Gary Danielson played and knows more than me and all that, but the simple fact of the matter is that it's not set in stone because Verne or Gary said something, far from it.
I think it's personally not a matter of attacking but the fact that their linebackers are big enough to play within gaps better than we were able to.

Dude, you have zero credibility. Where did I say that? Gary said the spread does not work in the NFL because of the size at the point of attack. Did I imply that NFL teams don't have any speed? I mean Jeez!
Posted on 11/26/10 at 3:55 pm to Lester Earl
all we had to do was tackle the guys we touched and we win.

I am talking about overall defensive size.
and Mingo has started 1 game all year. Lavar Edwards has started most games opposite of Adams since Montgomery has been down.
260-275 is normal size for college defensive ends. That is not small.
280-300 is normal for most college DTs.
Francois is really the only undersized player on our Defense at LB. He is an obvious weak spot.
Mingo is small, but a situational player.

they've had 4 and 5 down lineman most of the game.

no, you implied that LSU wasn't able to stop Auburn because they were a speed defense.

The problem was read and react to late (Chavis) and when they did get pressure, failed tackles, and no disciple to cover Newton's rushing lanes.
