I hope the Fiesta Bowl becomes a PAC-16 vs. SEC bowl game. We need a yearly bowl game between our conferences.
Assuming Oklahoma is one of the 16, they would most likely be the representative, and every time they play an SEC team in a BCS bowl game they get their a**es handed to them.

Going to be tough to good those top tier recruits without Willie Lyles though. I think if you were located in the south you wouldn't have had to risk banishment to get the players you have now.

Thoughtful, civilized piece of writing. Oregon is a good team, without question.

Having said that (here comes the but), everyone understands the desire to attribute the loss to a weaker than last year's team and the loss of critical defensive members of that team.

LSU lost a pretty good number of NFL quality players from last year's 11-2 team. In addition, the month of August has been particularly brutal for LSU with a number of blows (better chronicled elsewhere), the likes of which would have knocked a lesser team to its knees. LSU prevailed, and, I believe, will emerge stronger.

I agree with you, Lee is a quality indivudual and his courage is compelling. Thanks for the good wishes.

The Tigers look forward to making your hopes of an LSU undefeated season come true.

Oregon will have their hands full with Nevada next week. I think they lose atleast 2-3 in a weak PAC12 this year. Color me unimpressed with their physicality. Their O-linemen looked out of shape and Defense small.

Thomas took waay too long to deliver a pass. He would flip the ball before throwing and they just played like talented individuals and not a team.

Oregon thumbs their nose at tradition.

Too bad they can't see that the tradition they are building is one of choking in big games and having the whiniest fans in football.

there are 7 teams in the SEC that would beat them on the Offensive and Defensive line.
LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi State and Georgia. Maybe even Tennesee.

If oregon were in the South, they might be in Tennessee (no football talent) or Mississippi (same problem) or in a state already dominated by instate schools.

Your argument makes absolutely no sense.

In this hypothetical situation/alternate universe, if Oregon was in the south they would be in the heartland of football and have recruiting pipelines in the richest, star-laden states. We would have an SEC defense and an SEC o-line that would hold its own in the trenches and our offense wouldn't get stifled like this. It's much harder to recruit those athletes all the way from the Pacific Northwest because kids like to stay close to home.

IF Oregon was in the SEC they'd be Mississippi Tech

Barner and James are both injured. Just think if you would have to go play Miss St, Alabama, Florida, South Car etc. With the team you have you would not be able to win more than 9 games in the SEC.....get over it. There is no way around it you would not have the same success if you were in our conference. If you played our schedule this year you would easily lose 5 games. Trips to West Va, Alabama, and Miss st with home games like Florida and Arkansas...give me a break

I totally agree with the OP. If Oregon had better players they would be much better.

This might have already been said, but Kentucky and Vanderbilt disagree with your statement.

This has to be one of the more moronic posts on the rant, and that's saying something. The fact that you have been called out numerous times about your ridiculous hypotheticals, yet fail to acknowledge or respond to them shows you could actually be as clueless as it seems.

Let me get this right, you are saying that if Oregon was not Oregon, they would be better? That's like saying if Jordan Jefferson was Drew Brees, he would be better.

Even at #13, Oregon is still over ranked. It's total BS, you'll go through a highschool football schedule and not lose another game and Chip Kelley will be going for it on 4th down to put up td #8 on someone's JV team. Oregon fans are shocked and making excuses right now because they know they got their asses handed to them. If Oregon was in the SEC, you're recruiting would not be any better. Think about it, who wants to play in the SEC, but live in Oregon.

Furthermore, your record is 0 - 4 against OOC top 20 opponents. There's absolutely no evidence that you'd beat one team in the SEC that was still ranked at the end of the season -- given your track record.

The biggest issue that you don't realize is this -- you can't be 100% week in week out. You guys keep talking trash -- but if you had to go play bama next week, that would be another loss. Then if you had to play Arkansas a week after that, that would be another loss. Instead, you can go sleep and lick your wounds for a month before you have to play another respectable opponent.

Oregon is the second most over ranked team in the country, behind Notre Dame.

This is true. Basically what the OP, aka "asshat" is saying is that, "if Oregon had SEC talent, they could compete in the SEC." So stupid. The point of the argument is that Oregon just can't compete with SEC teams. And like you said, no one's going to Oregon to play in the SEC.

I'll be pulling for the Ducks to run the table because it will help LSU.
