Any thoughts on what our record would have been and who, if any, would the losses have been to?

Would not have beaten Oregon in first game
He would have had some growing pains through SEC

Honestly, there were only 3 teams who could have stayed on the field with us, regardless of which of our QBs played: Bama, Arkansas and Georgia.

Mett would not have been worse against Bama than Lee was in Tuscaloosa or JJ was in New Orleans.

The only wildcard was Mississippi State - despite our outclassing them in quality by an order of magnitude - they played a heck of a scrappy game, and it was relatively tight (though not quite as tight as the scoreboard indicated).

It may seem terribly homerish and overly positive, but I think we would have run the table with Mett as the starting QB and played a closer game against Bama in New Orleans (perhaps even winning it - therefore going 14-0 with a first time starting QB).

You need to check Lee's stats against Oregon. I have zero doubt Mett could've surpassed those numbers.

This is what I think as well. I know it's a topic that's been discussed before, but I guess now that the other QBs from last year are gone, people are more likely to give their real opinion.

Only possible losses would've been Oregon and Bama. I only say Oregon bc of lack of experience and it being a top 5 game to start his career, though I honestly don't think it would've mattered.. Last year's team was too dominant running and on defense to lose to any of the other 11 teams we faced.

None of this matters though, let's just look forward to Sept and see what the kid is made of on the field against SEC defenses. He'll be the best we've had in 4 yrs and he should lead us to Miami!

Yea, until he comes in, tears it up and everyone asks why was he not playing last year.

We all hope he is the savior, but it is going to eat at me and others about his PT 2011 if he is.

Would have lost to Oregon and Bama in the reg season and then probably won the Sugar bowl.

That's true.

We were all worried about hurting their feelings before, so we may have lied on this, an anonymous message board.
