Would Bianco be more palatable? I mean he does have some pretty significant disadvantages at Ole Miss. 2nd fiddle to State, no TOPS program (that I’m aware of). Hard to justify 1-6 in the Supers though.

No. There are 15 better options than the guy who has proven he can’t get over the hump even with more talented teams.

No. If those 2 say no, you go with Bakich or Jarrett or Heefner

Not Bianco

You don’t force Mainieri out for Bianco

The tops advantage and reduced 35 man roster neutralized that advantage
Bertman used it to keep players from other teams

The vandy advantage that Tulane also has is what you need

He’s been there 20 years. He’s had the chance to coach against about 6 different Miss State coaches.

He had his chance to overtake them.

People are already making excuses for Bianco.

LSU really wants to settle? If his name wasn't Bianco literally nobody would want that resume. If Vitello had 1 Omaha appearance 15 years from now literally nobody would want him. Vitello took over a terrible program and plays second fiddle in his state. He at least finished 1st in his division within 3 full years.

That "2nd fiddle" Ole Miss team in that state had the #1 or #2 overall class just 3 years ago or so.

Sad that we're still discussing this.

Sadder still, that it's actually a possibility.

People say this as if there is some law in the State of Mississippi that Ole Miss can’t be better than State at baseball. It should be concerning that he’s been at Ole Miss for 20 years and does have his program anywhere close to State.

Any coach that agrees to coach LSU will be a good hire. Think about the expectations for the coach. It’s gonna take someone with a lot of chest and heart, and someone that ain’t afraid of a challenge. Anyone willing to commit will have that winning attitude that the fans want IMO

Especially since they’ve had 5 or 6 coaches in that span.

Bianco is recruiting kids and has players on his team who weren’t born yet when he was hired there. If they’re still second fiddle to State that’s his fault.

How did everyone on this board arrive at the conclusion that every private school has recruiting advantages in baseball?
Outside of Vandy, it’s actually quite the opposite. Most are at a big disadvantage

On what planet would the head coach of ECU say no to LSU baseball. I don’t want to hear it.

This, to go with the fact that McDonnell was publicly announcing he'd be willing to talk to LSU, last week, if we call. If these guys turn us down, I'm not just not interested in Bianco, I'm also then wondering WTF is going on in the interviews.
