Why on earth not?

Auburn's now gone undefeated twice in the last 20 years and gotten zero championships. We've got 2 with 3 losses those two years. I think it's hilarious.

I don't think Oklahoma would beat USC, LSU, UGA or UF. Hopefully, Texas or Texas Tech will beat them this year, so that a better SEC team has a shot to get in NC game. Texas Tech, has a bye the week before they play OK too, so that game could be a toss up.

I think it's LSU and OU.

Why would you think that? Two thirds of the BCS poll is opinion poll and there's no reason to think that USC will rank anything other than #1

OU has played bcs opponents Cincinnati and Washington so far and plays TCU next... their ooc and in conference schedule looks solid too

If all three won out you'd have to think LSU would be the team left out in the cold

Would suck to be Auburned and to some extent it's inevitable that some years a four team playoff would be necessary to settle things apropriately... but LSU administrators would need to take a look in the mirror with respect to their out of conference scheduling choices too IMO

USC won't win out.. Don't forget that they have Oregon State, UCLA, and Stanford left on the schedule. 1 of those juggernauts will hand USC a WTF loss..

So with that in mind - if LSU wins out.. They go..

I don't see USC losing to any of those, I think OU has a better chance of losing to Mizzou

There is no way they would not put the defending national champions in the big game if undefeated! The same for USC. OU would be left out.

Um yea, beat UF, Georgia, Auburn, SC, Bama & the SEC championship game contender and you will def jump OU in the coaches poll and youre prolly ahead of both in the computers.

It would be tough for LSU to be left out, but OU and USC are probably the only two that could beat them out. Right now LSU has 4 games against top 10 opponents plus the SECCG. OU and USC have about 1 each.

My guess would be that LSU's computer score would be very good (much better than USC's) and that the human polls would be close, but would likely would keep LSU at 3rd. Not sure that their computer score would be enough to bump them in.

Then again human voters might try to force a USC/LSU matchup if OU shows any weakness. In short, too early to tell and the likleyhood of all 3 going undefeated in slim.

If LSU goes, it will be against USC, not OU. However, if all three of these teams are undefeated, the most probable matchup is USC vs. OU. I'd rate the probabilities about like this...
USC vs. OU: 60%
USC vs. LSU: 39.99%
OU vs. LSU: 0.01%

Are you serious?

If LSU, OU and SC win out, it will be SC and OU with the Tigers on the outside looking in holding their pud in their hand.

Again, there will never be another Auburn situation. If an SEC team is undefeated, they go. Period.

The Ohio State win looks good now, but how will it look later in the season if they slide? This will not be OSU's only loss. So, aside from that, where are your quality wins?

An earlier poster said that if LSU and USC are undefeated, the votes put them in over OU. That's dead on. We've seen OU vs. USC the year that they left out Auburn. It sucked.

If the voters DON'T put LSU in, the computers will. In THAT scenario, it's USC that gets left out because LSU ond OU will have similar SOS.

All that said, it's academic, because there will not be an undefeated SEC team unless it's Florida. In fact the three teams that I believe to have the best shot at going undefeated are Florida, USC and Mizzou, not Oklahomo.

Even though we play in the SEC with a tough schedule, we still are going to deal with pollsters looking at the OOC schedule. LSU played cupcakes which provide no real measuring stick. Last year, we had VT and Arizona, ASU in years prior. Even Fresno St. helped. OK has BCS opponents in their OOC and USC beat a top 5 team. The computers should put us ahead, but I doubt the pollsters would.

Don't know about the winning out. But any bowl game LSU is in, this staff gives then a great chance. They can prepare for most teams in a month.

The schedule would help LSU but the margins of vctory would also be a factor.

And in any case UGA would claim they were playing the best of anyone at the end of the season and thus should be in the title game.
