Except he actually got hurt and OSU didn't go to the playoffs. Other than
not being the same scenario at all its the perfect example.

They would PLAY. What I have been saying on here for months....it's not the threat of INJURY, it's the BOWL game!!!!! How many since the playoffs have sat out????

Yep

CFB is no longer about education
It’s not about conf championships
It’s not about awards
It’s not about playoffs
It’s not about the team
It’s not about heart
It’s not about NCs

It’s about NFL and $

It’s the NFL minor league

Good question. They would have same downside risk of injury. Not sure how they would weight the upside.

The players hold all the cards in this scenario. I say it is a matter of time before they quit on a playoff eligible team, because we see less and less committment to "the team" in our society every generation as we become more concerned about the individual. Parents promote and support this mindset. The new reality is hard for us old school team first people to grasp. Pat Tilmans of the world are becoming less frequent.

Yes because they have a potential Natty to play for.

When he announced he was sitting out OSU was squarely in the playoff picture still. He also could have been healthy by the time the playoffs rolled around.

And all those who support their actions do not seem to realize the corrosive effects their decision has on our program.

Instead of blaming 'those damn millennials' maybe you should assess the state of how things are run in the modern world. Businesses used to take care of their employees. Most don't do that anymore. Hence the reason most people will just jump ship at jobs without hesitation. It's strictly business on both sides.

It's the same situation with NCAAF. It's a business now, like it or not, and the players didn't make it that way. They're just playing the hand they're dealt. No football program, coach, NCAAF, etc has their back monetarily if they get hurt so why do you expect them to have their back?

Would be nice to see the NCAAF or the LSU Football program pony up some money for insurance policies. Collectively they make literally billions of dollars off these athletes who get "paid" in free tuition yet they can't set up something for these guys in case they get hurt. So why do you expect the student athlete to sacrifice everything they have worked their entire life's for when the benefactor of their work gives them little in return?
