We will retain House for next year ($$). We will lose to USC next year. We will have 3 losses at minimum next year. BK will still be our coach in 25’ and if house gets fired at the end of 24’ then BK will coach for at least two more years.
BK is virtually untouchable for 7/10 years of his contract. We don’t have the money within the athletic department, can’t get it, and will most likely fire/hire coordinators which will delay BK departure. All of this is baring NCAA sanction or clauses in contract.

Half of those belong to Ed O, his girlfriends, their kids and a midlife crisis. Blame Ed O for leaving the program in shambles with 40% of a full scholarship team available after all of the transfers and quitting on the team. LSU still doesn't have a full 85 even with tons of transfers trying to piece together a team. frick O for doing what he did.

[I agree to the thought of not playing those difficult neutral site games to start the year. Schedule is hard enough without them.]

And it doesn't crash your chances out of the gate if we lose with a 12-team playoff ahead.
I think a ballsy game 1 is exciting: the program got/gets lots of media and CFB fan buzz and it's certainly great when we win (2005 Arizona St; 2009 Washington; 2010 UNC; 2018 Miami; and that insane 2011 opener vs Oregon with Musberger orgasming "FREE BALL-TOUCHDOWN-LSU-MATHIEU!" on the punt strip-fumble)
It does feel friggin inexcusable to prep an entire summer and get your arse handed to you in game 1. UCLA ran the same 9 Chip Kelly plays since Chip Kelly was a HC and our D looked lost that entire game.
I still prefer a warm cupcake game 1 then a ranked or big-name opponent for game 2 like 2006 AZ; 2007 Va Tech but agree that we just need better prep and execution to look strong out of the gate.

They were dogshit in the 70’s when LSU scheduled them for like a 10 game series, almost all of them in Baton Rouge. I think LSU won only one or two of those games.
Should never schedule them. If they get matched up in a bowl game, different story.
