8-1 on 11/6 means we won @ auburn, @ Florida, beat ole miss, and beat Bama, control our own destiny with 2 sec games left, Arky and aTm. If Les can right the ship and get us there, then yes, I would feel he should be retained.

First of all... . I would help him pack. I would carry his boxes to the uhaul. I would follow him to his new house and unload the boxes and help him unpack. So....yes. My answer is yes, I would still believe Les should move on.

If he is 8-1 going into the gump game, that just puts him in a position to run the table. No decision necessary at 8-1.

Impossible. We cannot be 8-1 going into the 9th game of the season. 8-1 means we beat Bama, Ole Miss, Florida and auburn

I could see being caught up in the excitement of SEC title hopes and National title hopes...but.... there would still be that nagging feeling of dread that now accompanies any LSU season. Dread that the Tigers will lose a couple games they shouldn't and Les will still be his ten win self. Good but not exceptional.

10 wins and 1 or two 2 SEC losses may be enough to be in the SEC championship game from the West. Bama will slip up no way a true frosh QB and unproven RB's get you there unscathed and Calvin Ridley and OJ Howard alone are not enough.

When it comes to over reaction and premature depression as well as truly uninformed and unrealistic football fans,... no one and I mean no one, comes close to most of the posters on this board who despise Les Miles.

Yea because then we will lose to Bama and probably fall off after that 8-4 ... Bye bye

That's the day after the Bama game. So we'd have beaten Bama and OM to get to 8-1. We'd have Arky and TAMU left.

Pertaining to the OP, I don't really know. If we were to beat Ole Miss and Bama that means changes would have been made. We'll get raped by them if we play like we did Saturday. So I guess for your hypothetical, I'd support him but my support would be very tentative.

I'm over it. Don't even care. Keep him if that's what the university decides.

In all reality, I don't think Miles is going anywhere. We'll lose 2-3 more games this season, end up 10-3 or 9-4. I know, I'll catch a lot of shite for this but oh well. No, I don't want Miles back. Yes, I want Jimbo or Herman. But that stubborn old man will do just enough to stay.Do you really think Alleva or F. King has the balls to fire him?
I don't.
If or when they do, will Alleva hire the right guy?
Doubt it.

If Brandon Harris doesnt throw that interception and we hit the FG for the win, all the fans wouldn't be melting the way they are. And I say this because if we change 1 play, it changes most peoples opinions of the first game.

No. It may change the result of the game and it may change the intensity of the questioning on the game plan and Miles's coaching afterwards, but it won't change most people's opinions of the first game. If you actually watch the game you would understand how painful it is to watch them play, how unprepared this team is, and how they are outplayed in pretty much every aspect of the game, regardless of the final result. In fact, LSU didn't deserve to win on Sat. And you know, even if they did beat Wisconsin by 1 point, it won't help them avoid the inevitable failures that are coming when we face Ole Miss, UF, Bama, and Arky. You need to look past this "one" play and the W/L of this "one" game to see the real issue with this team and this coaching staff.

Enough is enough. The bad part is next year will only be worse. Hopefully FKing will get the frick out of the way. I wouldnt be being honest if i said i trusted alleva to make a good hire but at this point its needed. If we keep trottong out this offense the recruits WILL stop coming.

I disagree. It was painfully evident that Wisconsin out-played LSU in every facet of the game. We had a few good individual performances, but overall, Wiscy was the better team on the field and the sideline that day.

Even if LSU wins, it wouldn't have been enough to gloss over the fact that the team did not look good in any facet of the game.

We would all still be upset.

Look at the championship teams in '03, '07, and '11 that won some sort of championship....it was pretty obvious early in the year (@Arizona, vs Virginia Tech, and vs Oregon) that LSU was a championship-level team.

Go look at the game Saturday and tell me if you see championship level football. It looks a lot more like a 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015 type of team.

If you can't get this team, with this much experience and talent, to be prepared to successfully attack an unranked 1-dimensional opponent like Wisconsin in week 1 with a whole offseason to prepare, good luck with your 8-1 scenario come 11/6.

Yes. He will be more lucky than good if this happens, and will get drilled by Bama unless he has a brain replacement.

Damn right they will but I'm afraid it's too late. I've watched LSU for years and this has a bad feel to it. Those players seemed to be losing confidence in what Miles is preaching and you can't blame them. This could he ugly this year and then you are left with a less talented team for the next guy.

If we win the West I'm ok with him staying. Based on Saturday, there is no way we finish top 4.
