Not anyone with an ounce of basketball sense. This team was slightly overachieving to start the season and through the first 4 SEC games.
And we did not start 15-0.

So if I went back through your post history during that time, this is what you were saying then?

Real Fans stick to the one constant and that is the school- in their case LSU, regardless of the coach.
I wish that were the case Sli but its not, there is a very few true lsu basketball fans here.
There was about a 30% attendance for all those years LSU was absolute dogshit. So when most of the fans say they would be pissed if we let Wade go its not some weird infatuation with the coach its some weird infatuation with the school and the thought that he is best for LSU, I know you don't think he is but that's not the point rn, we just don't want the program to fall back to being inconsistent at best.
People go to LSU games now, the pmac was lit against Bama. And it would be foolish to think that isn't because of what Wade built so far.

Anti Wade thread disguised as a fan card measurement. These people are pathetic and BTW nothing will ever stop me from watching LSU basketball just to be clear.

Dude, grow up. This is a false story EVERY year right before the tourney. Forde is a hack!
One of Forde’s microchips broke and the replacement is on back order from the Chinese.

Wasn’t responding to you and barely know who you are. How embarrassing for you that you jumped to out yourself when I wasn’t even talking about you.

I find it curious that Wade is the hill people are choosing to die on.
What other HC would you propose they die on?
Men's basketball is the second largest revenue generator in the athletic department. It's also the second most popular college sport nationwide....by a HUGE margin. In Wade LSU has, for the first time in 30 years, a guy that has turned the program into a consistent winner. Has he reached the top of the mountain yet? No. But considering the fact that in the 20 years prior to his arrival LSU had finished last in the SEC 6 times and only reached the NCAAT 6 times, I'd say a coach who will be reaching the NCAAT for the 3rd time in his first 5 years (would be the 4th time had the 2020 tournament not been canceled) has done a pretty damn good job of winning consistently at a place where consistent winning did not exist.
LSU baseball was one of the premiere programs in America when Mainieri arrived. The football program was one of the premiere programs when both Miles and Orgeron took over. The basketball program was at rock bottom when Wade took over. A program that had produced mostly below-average results interrupted by a few good/great seasons here an there.
If there are sanctions that force the school to cut ties with Wade, so be it. But given the profile of the sport and the revenue potential, I can't think of another HC at the school right now who is more apt for people to "die for". The baseball program showed it could win championships and compete at a high level after Skip retired. The football program did not fall off a cliff after Saban left. The basketball program slowly regressed into complete apathy following Brown's departure. A regression that began prior to Brown leaving. Given the history, it appears more likely than not the basketball program would return to that state should Wade be removed. THAT'S why many fans want him to stay at all costs

This sounds like a cliché, but the only real reason to fire Wade would be for the success of the program.
Imo, that is defined by consistently making the tourney as a minimum standard and doing better than one and done in the tourney most years, and doing anything in his personal life to hinder that.
The off-court shite, including the NCAA sniffing around, being disliked, and/or just being a general weirdo is all acceptable as long as he consistently meets a defined standard of success.

I’ve had moments of frustration here this season, as we all want to see the Tigers do well. But that’s just temporary frustration.
You laid out the big picture perfectly. Coaching searches aren’t fun. LSU baseball, almost without a doubt the #1 destination job in college baseball, just had to hire their 3rd or 4th choice as their next coach (although I think Johnson will do great). LSU basketball is far less desirable in the college basketball world. Who knows how many times Woodward will be turned down before making a hire.

Woodward is going to go out and find a suitable replacing it does happen.

That’s not the case. I don’t know if Wade is the best for LSU or not. I don’t have enough info and that includes what the ncaa plans to do or not do .
My goals for LSU basketball might be Mis aligned with the overall alchemy of the fan base and I’m fine with that. I want to see us get to the 8 and really thought this would be the year. Maybe it will. I don’t think it is too much to expect wade at this point in his tenure here.
If he doesn’t, I hold out hope. It’s all us fans have.
I want to keep wade if Woody thinks it’s in the best interest of the program because I trust that woody has the overall program’s health in mind in the decisions he makes

Yep. You won't see Final Four in my expectations.
Excited about what was happening, but realistic.

I, like I'm sure you as well, have watched a LOT of shitty basketball over the last 30 years. Great seasons followed up almost immediately by terrible, last place seasons. I've watched teams go into a season whom you knew had no real chance to compete. I've watched rosters who looked like they were built for great success fail to even reach the NCAAT. "Just making the tournament each year" is not the ultimate hope/goal I have for the program. But given the past history of the program, it has been quite nice to turn on the TV over the last 4 years on selection Sunday KNOWING my school's name is going to be called as part of the tournament field and anxiously turning in to the tournament hoping, like that of 67 other fanbases, my team can make a run to a championship.
Losing in the tournament is not the worst fate. Not even being a part of it is. And for 18 of the 24 years prior to Wade's arrival LSU wasn't. So am I apathetic about the prospect of the current success of the program possibly disappearing? Hell no! It's because I've had to be a fan of a crappy basketball program and it wasn't a lot of fun.

He would probably be hired by Georgia, immediately.
Their fans would probably appreciate a Coach who could take them to the tournament every year.
