That's not the case at all. It is the realization that Wade has this program in a consistent place we have not seen since the early 90's.

My concern is that our AD wants to replace him with "his" guy. Well, "his" basketball choices as AD have not been very good (See Buzz Williams Lorenzo Romar).

As I pointed out yesterday, Woody seems to be real good at recruiting to programs that have elite resources and facilities (A&M Football, LSU Football and LSU Baseball), LSU Basketball does not have elite resources or facilities and Woody's track record with basketball coaches is suspect at best.

I want to see him actually step up and have our coach's back, just we saw in Kansas and Auburn (both currently battling for 1 seeds in the NCAAT). I fear that he's going to cave on basketball in hopes of leniency on football.

Make no mistake about it, with the class we have next year, losing Wade for any reason will set this program back 2-3 years (if not longer).

Stop.

Look at John Brady's stretch from 1999-00 to 2005-06. Specifically 2001-02 through 05-06.

It's essentially the same path that Wade is on right now.

Convenient to leave out the 2000-2001 season where we won 2 SEC games

You've got a clouded memory Brady never took LSU to the tournament more than 2 consecutive years. After this year Wade will have as many tournament appearances in 5 years as Brady did 10.

No, Brady never had CONSISTENT success in terms of tournament appearances.

Wade is not getting fired. No new information came out, after appeals, etc, there will be a slap on the wrist, but Wade keeps his job. Period. Let's be thankful and move on.

How did I leave it out?

I set the parameters to start at 99-00 and but then mentioned the year after when he really hit his stride.

If anyone thinks Wade right now is better than Brady at LSU, then you're too far gone.

He's gonna end up somewhere else in the SEC and he'll win them a title. It'll be like Bruce Pearl except Tennessee found a way to sort of rebound. We'll just end up climbing out of a shithole for the next decade.

I support LSU, yes LSU, not any particular coach! I have always and will always buy tickets based on being a supporter of LSU athletics, not any particular LSU coach! Geaux Tigers!

Wade is an automatic single-digit tourney seed every year, and he hasn't come close to reaching his potential as a head coach yet.

Man the last two seasons he had a Sweet 16 or and Elite 8 roster.

You think this roster at the start of the year without Miller was a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 roster?

If so, that tells me everything I need to know about your opinion.

Bro, everyone was yelling final 4 or bust after we started out 15-0.

And based on your defense of Wade in this thread, I'm sure you were as well.

Of course

It’s not all about will wade for me or most fans. It’s about only constant in the equation and that is LSU

Not a season ticket holder because I do not love there anymore. I would be hesitant in my criticism of SW making the call to fire WW until I saw who he brought in. I mean if he has someone in mind that is better then Wade that we do not know about then for by all means go for it. The decision he needs to be attached to though.

Yep

In The modern day coaching world, Coaches often times have trolls that hit boards, and other social media to bolster their image and overall status.

I would not be surprised if there weren’t a few around here. Sometimes it seems like quite a few.
Any negative comment about a coach will be immediately met with resistance. There will be no impartiality. It’s their guy or no one else.

A lot of the resistance will be in the form of accusations to posters that they’re not “real fans” of the team since they criticize the coach; as though the coach is “the team” and to be a fan, you must support the coach. They lose tact and get personal real fast which is a tell tale sign that they’ve got an agenda.

The reality of course is that coaches come and go and these people are only fans of the coach. Real Fans stick to the one constant and that is the school- in their case LSU, regardless of the coach.

Yes. I had tickets during this time too.
