All Les Miles turn into the same thing, same talking points, same individuals... Even those bitching about Rick, I see them in the threads as well.
Again, my idea is to sticky a Les/Saban thread for all talking points on the two.

LSU won more games from 2005-2015, the Les tenure, than any other SEC program. And all of us not suffering from shite for brains knows this was done at a time when the SEC was by far stronger than it has ever been. In other words, no weak arse three loss west champions.
Its some funny shite to see clowns calling the #1 program in the SEC for total wins in a ten year period as underachieving when that program also played in two NCGs.

les has got to act like he wants a job in order to be paid by LSU.

You better believe if someone is paying me $133,000 a month, I will shout from the roof tops I want a job whether I really do or not.
Les is going to be 64. Lets see, start at another school at 64 or take vacations all the world and get paid $133,000 a month? No brainer for me.

I have a great deal of respect for Coach Miles. I thought his time here was amazing. Was it time for the players to hear another voice? Yes...but to sit here and claim that his tenure here was anything less than stellar is selective ignorance. The climb to the apex and the subsequent decline from the apex is rather typical. I do think that Coach Miles is probably smart enough to know that he better have every tool to be successful at his next stop...hence the stiff arm from both Purdue and Houston. Purdue won't spend the kind of money to be great and if you read Major Applewhite's contract, well, Houston didn't open the vault either. He's got a pretty decent gig with financial security AND an opportunity to be an involved Dad to his kids. He gets to talk shop with Mike Riley at Nebraska, Larry Fedora at UNC and keep in touch with his former assistants. Not a bad life for a 63 year old...

Yeah the last 5 years were wonderful. NFL talent everywhere and couldnt get to a BCS bowl or a playoff. To say it was stellar is laughable. Then to say it is typical to decline. Show me a team that had this much talent that never even made it back to a bcs/playoff game. He had two great season at LSU after that he never made it back to a bcs bowl or a playoff game with Tons of NFL talent. He beat the teams he was suppose to beat with superior talent and was average at best against teams that were good. He will be remembered as a great guy with tons of talent and what could have been.

ESPN also said he took the Michigan job. ESPN is not the gospel. Find a better way to talk shite about Miles if you must be a miserable arse.

I guess I would determine that he Is looking for a job based on him actually interviewing for jobs at Houston and Purdue and not getting them. What do you need to determine he's looking for a job?

I know man Okie State had no talent in the 80s only a couple of NFL hall of famers.
What the hell does the late 80's have to do with the classes Oklahoma state was bringing in in 2000?
Using this logic Saban didn't turn lsu recruiting around because we had talent in the last 80's.
quote:
And btw there weren't all these recruiting rankings like there are now back then so saying they weren't getting a bunch of top 25 classes is just ignorant.
From 1993-2001 OSU put all of 10 players in the nfl.

so saying they weren't getting a bunch of top 25 classes is just ignorant.
From.1992-2001 they were 19 games below .500. Yeah that streams top 25 classes.

I had a poster tell me the west wasnt a tough division so he could say Miles shouldnt have lost to other west programs.

Im sorry facts paint 2005-2015 as one of the most successful runs in lsu history.
As a lsu fan it must kill your soul to know that lsu was one of the most accomplished and consistent programs in all of cfb.
It had to be a real kick in the teeth to watch lsu reach heights its never been before.

He's not a good coach
How does a bad coach turn a program with 1 winning season in the previous 12 years into a respectable program and had them winning 8&9 games.
quote:
Universities have every incentive to hire him right now s
Aside from the fact that he would be the oldest coach in a decade(excluding Solich returns) to land a major p5 program.
I'm still waiting on all the list of all these 63 year old coaches getting offers from major programs.
quote:
Did anyone offer him a job? Nope.
Only 2 decent programs were open. Kiffen was supposed to be so sought after and he got the FAULT job.
It's amazing watching posters like you use him being put of work for 6 months as proof he was a bad coach.
quote:
Miles screwed the university for years because you had the good ole boys who didn't want him gone.
Holy shite. This place never fails to entertain me. So now we are saying the most successful tenure in lsu history screwed lsu?
quote:
How do you think Orgeron a complete failure at HC got the keys to one of the richest football programs in the country? B
Because our AD is a clown.
quote:
Miles was well liked by many and that allowed them to just overlook his gameday flaws because he's a great friend.
Im pretty sure it was overlooked because he was in the midst of having one of the most successful tenures in SEC HISTORY.
I swear some of you really believe that Miles' tenure wasnt elite.
Posted on 4/11/17 at 9:30 pm to Rickdaddy4188
You brought up the 80s as part of your false assessment of Okie states history I just corrected it. And I live the way you gloss over the fact that they were in probation during the 90s while also justifying making up recruiting rankings. And btw we didn't reach any new heights during Miles tenure, there not one thing he did that hadn't been done before, constant exaggerating and flat out lying to force your agenda on people. You're like a born again Christian recruiter.

Why would they.
quote:
heir man was dumped
You mean like 99% of all cfb HCS?
Bill Belichick was also fired at one point. Does that mean he sucks as a coach?
quote:
Yes, he had a successful tenure but he also underachieved and looked downright incompetent at times.
You mean like every single coach in the history of football?
The problem is you dont watch other programs like you do with lsu.
Most posters on here act like Miles was the only coach that had clock management issues when in facts sports illustrated ran a story about how often ALL nfl and cfb coaches have clock blunders.
quote:
Although we will never know, you're foolish if you don't think Saban would have exceeded Miles achievements had he stayed at LSU.
Name another program that wouldnt be more successful under Saban. If you are calling into question Miles because you think Saban wouldve done better, then every cfb coach should be called into question.
Saban would,literally,make every program better.

How many power 5 jobs came open this year? How many elite coaches were available to fill them? How many 63 year old elite coaches were available to fill that small about of vacancies? Again misleading specifically shaping perameters to fit your agenda. There was 65 year old Butch Davis who got a job this year and a 79 year old was also hired as a head coach this offseason. And for the record just off the top if my head Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier and Barry Alvarez twice were all hired at power 5 schools past the age of 60 so again this is a false narrative.
