re: "If LSU fires Les Miles, he will have a job at a major program the next day"

quote:Yet Miles owns the 4 top seasons in LSU scoring offense, each under different OCs.
Miles lasted as long as he did thanks to some great Defensive hires minus the peveto/? co defensive thing.
Bottom line is LSU added another NC, played for another and historical win% improved considerably under his time at LSU, so all this butthurt is ridiculous.

It strains credulity to suggest Les Miles was not a successful head coach at LSU.
However, it was clearly time for him to go, as his flaws were increasingly exposed.
He was and is a good man and represented the school with integrity until such time as he needed to be replaced.
Success with integrity is hard to beat. I thank Les for his service, but look forward to improvement of a program that had either stagnated or was in slow decline. I hope we picked the right guy to replace Les.

Miles just joined the Fulmer, Franchione and Tuberville club.
They are all done coaching major college football.
Miles can believe what he wants but no major program is putting their offense in the hands of Les Miles and whatever offensive coordinator he promises them. He had his one chance to make that hire but he stuck with Cameron and paid the price of his job.
There is not a single fact in the above post.

Im not saying you said there was.
I'm just pointing out to other posters that those are opinions. You may end up being right but as of now they are opinions.

Have you ever seen a fan base get so upset when posters try to post positive things about a coach's tenure?
We have a portion of lsu fans that will outright shite on the last 11 years just because of miles.

Yea, after all the talking heads and even Dick Satan came to his defense it became really obvious they were either fricking with LSU fans and laughing behind our backs or they were absolutely terrified of waking the sleeping giant and LSU football and its tiny market to be relevant again and analize the Ohio States, Notre Dames and Gumps of the world.
Punctuation please

quote: Some of you think Miles duped his way to an 11 year career at LSU by being in the right place at the right time.
Well, maybe just the last few years.
Pretty difficult to win in this league with Jennings and Harris at QB, but Miles still found a way to have his teams in the hunt for a BCS game late into each year. A break here or there or a different AD and things couldve been different.
Put either of those QB's any other team in the SEC and what coach wouldve fared as well?
Im not saying Miles should still be the coach here. But until someone exceeds his performance on the job description listed above, Im not going to be one of the unappreciative and poke holes at his tenure here.

I remember one Miles fanboy saying Purdue is beneath him and he would pass on that job.....Purdue actually passed on Miles.

Let it go man. Just let it go.
This. The man did a lot for LSU and was a great steward for the University and State. He did what he thought was best for the program, which is exactly what anyone of us would have done in his shoes.
He's gone and has been nothing but a class act since being terminated, which is more than many of us would do. Stop shitting on the man.

It's funny that Les is labeled a great Recruiter but until LSU, never had a top 10 recruiting Class

When is the last time Oky Lite had a top 10 recruiting class?
Posted on 4/11/17 at 1:33 pm to nitwit
I will check cause I don't know if Miles ever had a top 20 Recruiting Class before LSU. Maybe 1
