Wouldn't really bother me at all. Les has done so much for this program and yes he is very well paid to do it.

I guess I would rather see a statue for Pistol Pete first.

Assuming he retires at LSU, naming the grass after him would be appropriate on the Charles Youmans McClendon Field in the Stadium that Nicholas Lou Saban built.

The clocks in the stadium would immediately stop working.

I would prefer they let him finish his career at LSU first, after winning 3 Football Championships.

What would your reaction be?

I'd be pissed...though that reaction would have nothing to do with my feelings toward Les Miles...who I like a lot.

At LSU, we should never name the field/stadium after anyone.

He already claims ownership to the grass.

Why has no one mentioned that Les' addiction to grass has rubbed off on his players?

Should we reward a coach who encourages grass addiction and then kicks the offending players off his team?

So I take it you're not a fan of the PMAC? It was the LSUAC when I was there in 80. The track and field area was called Bernie Moore Field, if I rcall correctly, at the time. I do actually prefer to wait half a century or so and possibly for the cessation of breathing to start naming stuff. Otherwise you have the possibility that the gumps were worried about, although it would probably be cheaper to change a name than junk a statue.

If he locks down this recruiting class, and he succeeds with te group like I think he will, I would be cool with it. But there's no way we'd name the field after him right now, so I don't see the point of this thread

the man deserves some sort of special recognition for sure. He's been a great representative for LSU. Period.
Yeah, let's re-name it aight!

A few possibilities off the top of my head:

Welcome to the Les Miles "OneNineEleven Abomination" Field at Tiger Stadium.

Welcome to the Les Miles "TGDCC" Field at Tiger Stadium. (Thank God Dooley can't count)

Welcome to the Les Miles "Celebration Bermuda tastes Great" Field at Tiger Stadium.

Welcome to the Les Miles "Sponsored by John Chavis and Corey Raymond, Somebody cover Yeldon, Football is played for 60 minutes" Field at Tiger Stadium.

Welcome to the Les Miles "Saved by JennSwag and Pocic" Field at Tiger Stadium.

Welcome to the Les Miles "I played my naive Athletic Director for a sucker to the tune of another undeserved raise and contract extension" Field at Tiger Stadium.

Welcome to the Les Miles "Bowls of Chicken and Steak S.E.C. West 3 and Lovin It" Field at Tiger Stadium.

Of course there are others, but that's enough jocularity on December 25th.

Merry Christmas to all the LSU fans, grads and ex-athletes with high standards of excellence for L.S.U. athletics!

Indifferent. But we've had several successful coaches, so if we had to name the field, I'd say Dietzel deserves the honor.
