Gonna be so much talent on this team next year that not even Les could frick it up enough to not win the NC.

Plenty of people would still want him gone.

Miles will be at LSU at least until his contract expires in 2019 no matter what happens next year.

What is his life after coaching?

If he were to drop a retirement announcement the day after the NC, would LSU just promote, or would they try to go out and find someone? By that date presumably all the good candidates would have been hired by other teams.

What has been said many times before, the only way the rant will be satisfied is to win every game (go undefeated), win the national championship (#1 in both polls), and then fire the coach (Les retires). This place would rejoice because just think about it for a second, what would people have to bitch about

You don't get it... or you cant accept the truth one of the two. I think I speak for a great portion of "The Rant" when I state that "The Rant" wants to see LSU realize its potential. This does not mean win a championship every year. In fact, and Im sure this will cause howls of disagreement, I don't mind seeing them lose when they are maximizing or coming close to playing to their potential. In order to do this, the coaching must be a lot better than what it has been the last few years. The team will always struggle against good teams that are well coached with this current regime. Unless Les learns to teach discipline and diversify the one dimensional offense. The D coordinator hire looks good. What the hell is so hard to understand about this view??? And yet, if you feel this way, you are a "negatiger". Id rather be a "negatiger" than be plum ignorant like so many that think its being negative to expect more from our coach or question anything about the weak coaching.

Why would he? Because the negative Ranters want him to? Les Miles is still a relatively young 62 year old coach IMO, and I think he would continue on if he won out next year.

Being a head coach is nothing like being a coordinator.

this is absolutely correct. Head coach and coordinator are entirely different jobs with entirely different skill sets.

Yes, the next batch of head coaches usually come from the coordinator ranks, but at an elite program like ours, I'd much prefer a guy who's actually proven himself as a head coach rather than hiring a "hot" coordinator with no HC experience.

WTF are you people smoking?
I noticed you changed Les to LSU. Are you including some other sport besides football?
Or does "title" mean something like Tampax Bowl Champion?

He should retire after 2016 regardless of the outcome.
