re: If Kiffin comes, just don't be mad when he gives LSU the middle finger and moves on!

I’d hardly characterize Ole Miss and Tennessee as “ storied programs “!
Posted on 11/26/25 at 8:46 am to homemadeshine
IMO he'd be a fool to do that since LSU is one of the premiere elite collegiate football programs in the nation.
Doesn't get any better than this - a HC Coaching gig at LSU.
Ladies and Gentlemen the sun has set in the west - it's Saturday night in Death Valley.

Bayou Lane, come on down!

If he comes for 6 yrs just like he did at ole miss, and finds great success in 2 of the last 4 years of that, its a win. We were declining with Kelly
He had 2 returning starters at Ole miss this year. Not expecting year 1 turn around if its lane... but yr 2 and 3 we will be close or there.. if we can hold onto these elite dline hs kids commited

Let’s look at the why….
USC he was 33-34 and was fired
Tennessee 33 and left for a storied program USC
Ole Miss… leaving a program that hasn’t had success since integration and the success he’s had isn’t sustainable long term. Recruiting disadvantage with instate talent.
LSU plenty of instate talent, resources and a track record of 3 straight coaches winning national championships….
I doubt he would move on unless he wants a nfl.

Kiffin has coached at three of the most storied programs in college football history in Tennessee, USC and Ole Miss and he's never led a team to a championship or even the championship game
One year at Tennessee. He would have played in Conference Championship at USC, but Pete Carroll's sanctions prevented it.
Ole Miss as one of the most storied programs in college football history? LMAO

Over last three years, CBK has a more SEC wins than Kiffin
Who cares

Since the beginning of the CFB playoffs, SMU, Arizona State, Boise and TCU have made the playoffs, but Ole Miss has not even come close
No point in comparing a 12 team playoff to the prior 4 team versions

It will also mark the first time in CFB history that a school will make a HC the highest paid coach in the country and the coach has never won or even made it to a championship conference game or the playoffs.
Didn't LSU already do this with Nick Saban?

Valid point! I personally think he is walking into an unrealistic situation. He is not Saban. He is a good coach. He won’t meet the expectations at LSU because there is only one coach on the planet that could. This is a bad fit as much as BK was a bad fit.

Wayyyy late to the discussion but I don’t disagree. Anyone downvoting this doesn’t understand how ego driven LK is.

Like saban did? Give us a natty or 2 and he can go

Honemadesunshine: you mean Kiffin cares more about himself than the fans, interesting?
Posted on 11/26/25 at 12:13 pm to homemadeshine
LSU has fired the last 3 head coaches.
Are you pissed that Kiffin might leave before LSU gets a chance to fire him?

If Kiffin leaves, LSU will just win another
“Coaching Change Championship.”

“Coaching Change Championship.”

Psychotic negative "Complain-A-Whiners" are just as bad as Pumptards. OP already has Kifffin hired and then leaving after a few years.
