re: If it's true that we're hiring Corey Raymond does that mean we're keeping House?

Of those guys in that link you shared, some of them were most certainly coming to LSU no matter what. I will say this, he is better than what LSU currently has, so there's that.

Woah now. Never would I ever want Raymond as a DC. He’s a DB coach

I got that. I deleted my post because I initially thought you were referring to House.

Still don’t care for Raymond. He helped let the DB room go to shite while he was here before.

Some of them lol. Well no shite. You can say that about any recruiter ever. He still pulled huge names and developed them into NFL players. Also took lesser known players and developed them into NFL players. Cordale Flott being his latest.

He did suck his last few years in recruiting. Also had O obliterating the program. His first 7 years at LSU were great, and you hate him because of 2 years with O and Bo Pelini in the mix.

Never said hate. But he hasn’t done well at Florida.
Perhaps he wasn’t the reason we were DBU

Poster above just claimed he had no say so in coaching the defense. Which is it?

UF gave him some bullshite position, never but him in any way shape or form in charge of the defense

Why would we hire Raymond?
Wasn’t he part of the reason BK inherited the worst DB room we’ve had since Curley?

McGlothern, Ricks and Flott were on that team. Unfortunately the culture and attitude had turned to shite thanks to O. Ricks bolted and McGlothern couldn't straighten up when Kelly arrived. Ryan and Davis were both highly rated, but didn't pan out. I actually thought Raydar Jones showed promise, but he got caught up in the culture too.

Who said we are hiring Raymond back?

There's a bunch of threads talking about it since he was "allowed to pursue other opportunities".

Nobody said we were bringing him back. Only speculation if BK would. You took a major jump. Also, DCs don't hire their position coaches. When House was hired, he was told "here's your new DB coach"

He's a horrible coach. The DBs were always out of position. If he comes back to recruit that's a different story.

They were out of position in Pelini’s defense.

All I know are facts and he can’t be deemed a shitty coach if he routinely sends DBs to the NFL. It makes no sense.

Dude has coached several NFL DBs but he’s a shitty coach. Explain that, please

Danielle Hunter never even sniffed 2nd team All-SEC while at LSU. When he got to Minnesota, coaches couldn't believe how poor his technique was. He currently leads the NFL in sacks and has been selected to 3 Pro-Bowls. Explain that.

Many of those the players Corey Raymond coached (Adams, Stingley, Fulton, Tre White, Donte, Delpit, Stevens) were 5* recruits. Let's not act like they were 3* players that he developed into NFL talents.

Ed Orgeron sent players to the pros.

So did countless other bad coaches.

The NFL sees talent drafts on potential not college coaching.

Ed O is a good defensive line coach. And there are very few DB coaches who have ever sent as many to the pros as Raymond has.

Cordale Flott, Jay Ward, Greedy Williams.

Love how y’all say he’s a bad recruiter but now y’all are trying to discredit his coaching because he coached 5 stars.

Wtf kind of logic is that?

What did you coach them to do? Or were they on your kids team when he was 6 years old or something?
