... I will support the team as I have always done.

he's not my first pick... but I'm not going to stop supporting the players because of that. I believe it's possible the administration knows better than I do, what is needed to be successful.

I will do what I’ve always done, support the Tigers and that includes coaches. He’s not my first choice but if he’s hired, I’ll pull for him!

I'll think "can't do any worse than Smoke did" and hope I'm right.

I think he'll do fine. If nothing else, I'll enjoy seeing Mike and Drew together for a year.

Bianco more than deserves the opportunity and if Woody can't lock up anybody better then why not. If it doesn't pan out, so be it.

I think we'll be shopping for a new football coach long before it's time to shop for a new baseball coach again.

I love college baseball but that hire is always gonna be 1000x more important.

This mentality is why our baseball program is where we are now and not where we once were.

I’ll support him. I do think he will bust his arse because he doesn’t want to let everyone down including daddy Skip.

Yeah, because I'm the one running the baseball program.

My point was more that we shouldn't treat this like the last coaching search of all time. If we have to hire a new coach a few years down the road because this didn't work out, so be it. Smoke's 5 years at the helm did not ruin LSU baseball.

The planets don't always align for you to get the coach you want. LSU's window is now and they have to take stock of what is available today.

Saban ended up at Bama because they had an opening (and we didn't) when he was ready to come back to college. We now know what a legend Saban is but that wasn't a lock of the century bet when Bama hired him in 2007 after a 6-10 finish with the Dolphins.

Skip said he didn't hire Tim Corbin back in 2006 because he thought he was too business-like and lacked personality and sales skills. Was he wrong to pass over Corbin? Would Corbin have been as successful or more so at LSU? We'll never know. But hindsight makes it much easier to speculate.

All we really know is that Woody likes the surest bet he can find. If he can't get Corbin to take the bank, he's probably going to settle for Bianco or Godwin. It's hard to see any other proven winners out there jumping ship for the LSU job.
