Well Dick Pitino's name has been kicked around also...and since they are playing each other, one candidate will get 20 threads and the other will be dismissed...

I'll start a thread saying I don't want him no matter what the result is. He could make the final four and I'd still want no part of him.

Way better than what we've had in the last 2 hires.

If that's the only bar we are setting with this hire, we are gonna be right back here in a few years.

He's almost 60. But his team plays hard on defense.

I'd prefer him to Stansbury, but I really would rather go a lot younger. I like him and think he can coach and recruit but I'd like to make a lot of other guys say no first.

It cracks me up how people want him. He was basically Johnny Jones for 10 years. Beats a big name program one time and all of a sudden is uber popular here as a coaching hire.

Jones never won a tournament game at N. Texas and certainly didn't win two over single digit seeds.

If you are comparing Jones to Kermit Davis, your really don't watch much basketball.

He's not my top choice -- far from it, but the arguments against him are pretty lame.

Bruce Pearl just called Kermit one of the most underrated coaches in the country.

And Bruce Pearl is sitting at the house and Kermit is going to the Round of 32 for the second straight year.

When Pearl gets Auburn put on probation, Auburn can hire Davis.

If we would have hired him instead of f'ing Trent Johnson, or even when Jones was hired.

Worse than that, one story I've read says that Alleva interviewed Mike Bray in 2008, but instead hired TJ. If that's true, it doesn't bode well for Joe's decision-making skills.

Almost nothing Joe Alleva has done while employed by LSU bodes well for his decision-making skills.

It won't even take a binder for this hire. A 10 slide PowerPoint will probably suffice

Bruce Pearl is in the same conference as LSU. He's hoping someone like Kermit Davis gets the job. It's like getting a recommendation from Gus Malzahn on a football coach.
