The "icy whites" aren't my favorite, but they're OK as a road uniform. A lot of teams wear all-white on the road. I think at home we should wear colors even if it's just the G-W-G traditionals that we all love.

I hate the white helmet! LSU should ALWAYS wear the gold helmet and if I had my way there would be TWO uniform options Gold-White-Gold and Gold-Purple-Gold and unless forced into it by the other team, we should only wear G-W-G.

Come one Chicken! They all say that they came to LSU to prepare to go to the NFL. Well the NFL TELLS players what they will wear and fines them for having the shirt untucked or their socks not pulled up. They are already paid. They want to be pros? Then wear what we tell you G-W-G and get over it!

The white helmet/pants were initially intended to be worn with the purple tops. If you look at the stripes, they do match purple uni shoulder stripes, but they added white stripe in the middle.
When we wear them with the white tops and/or gold helmet, they do not match.

My point was that our gold pants don’t match stripes either, yet every time we wear the whites there’s semjase and others bitching about the damned stripes.

I don’t think it’s Nike’s fix per se. The L logo white pants are from one of the special uniform combos from a decade ago.
So we’re either still using the same pants, or they keep ordering the same style and never get them updated.

This is not accurate, as the first time we wore both white helmets and white pants was the 1997 Independence Bowl win over Notre Dame.
The white pants first showed up against Vanderbilt the year before.
Dinardo wanted to get the purple jerseys out of our look and none of his teams ever wore them. The only variation was the purple pants abomination of the 1995 game at Kentucky.
