Really, I think he's just a super freak athlete that isn't particularly great at football. He's not reliable IMO.
agree to disagree. They just don't throw him the ball or run any kind of offense around him. He could be our Antonio Gates. It doesn't make any sense to me why they never throw him the ball.

The problem wasn't the QB, it was the scheme. JJ has been smooth running the offense this year, a different offense. It had a much different feel last night, no biggie
Exactly then tell that to the guy who placed the blame on JJ in the orignal post
You are incapable of getting past one individual, which happens to be JJ. His main gripe was the play calling.

All you have to do is to look at the reaction by some to this game and the reaction to the Northwestern St. game.
The only difference between those 2 games, other that what QB started, was that NWS had bout 25 fewer players to use than WKU, but some kinda big deal is made out of a 42-9 win vs. WKS and little to nothing was said bout a 49-3 win over a unmanned NWS...go figure.
Here we go. So either you're JJ or Lee and there is nothing in between. Start a thread about JJ, get called a Lee homer. Argue with another guy that we don't win without JJ in another thread, and I'm a JJ homer that hates Lee. I think people even managed to make this a race thing in this thread at different points.

Heres the original post

But it's too coincidental at this point. This is the type of team we are when we start JJ. The numbers aren't bad, but the other team is always in the game, we have problems maintaining any TOP advantage because we can't seem to sustain drives, and we're just mediocre. We look lost out there at times when JJ is the starter, as if there is a lack of control in the huddle.
I give JJ full credit for allowing us to beat Bama. We don't beat Bama the last two years without JJ. However, Lee has brought us to this point, and we're a better overall team against every other team outside of Alabama when Lee is the starter.
The playcalling was awful last night as well. I think we ran more option with Lee during his one series than JJ had the entire game. So basically, we completely attempted to reverse their roles in game 10? This is just frustrating that we're dealing with this right now.
2 sentences about playcalling the rest vague JJ cant run the offense/Lee I cant put my finger on it but its just better crap.

Besides being a freak athlete what has he shown that would deserve this?
Against Bama, I noticed one play, where we ran 4 verticals. I'm pretty sure the throw was intended to go to him.
JJ looked to the right, to look off Barron, who bit. Peterson was streaking down the field, wide open, and would have scored.
As JJ turned his head back left and got ready to throw, T-Bob allowed the rusher in and JJ got sacked. Unfortunate.

So two sentences, and an entire five pages of the thread, isn't enough?
ETA: I'm in another thread being questioned about my support of JJ in the Alabama game. haha

Exactly. You are reading into it what you want to see. Good think you recognize this as well.

Well, aren't you special. Don't get your hopes up, you are posting after me in every single one of them. If anything the reverse is true.

I didn't start a "blame" game thread after a 42-9 win over a FBS program a week after one of the most hpyed games/wins in a decade.
You for some reason didn't know a team let down might be coming?
You seem to have a want to make much out of nothing, but each to our own.

JJ has a higher QB rating than Lee.

This is a problem with a lot of people. Trying to stir controversy where there isn't any

I dont really have any gripes with this post.
I agree.

Ain't that the truth.
The offense scored a touchdown on 5 of its 8 possessions with JJ at QB. JJ had great 1st half numbers until two long bomb incompletions though his good play wasn't reflected in the scoreboard. the second half was the opposite -- JJ was far more pedestrian but the offense scored on 3 of 4 drives. It was humming.
I don't even get the "our offense looked horrible" people. They lose me on step one of their baseless freakout.
Lee also looked rusty on his first few plays, but he rallied and lead a really nice drive for a score. I think both of our QB's are actually pretty good and people are calling them bad because they aren't Bert Jones. As if anyone who isn't All-American level is terrible.

There is no 'blame' to assess or appoint.
We won.

Why does anyone care about this?
I know I am late to the party, but I just don't understand this comment.

Like that great Louisiana Tech game?
42-9.
Idiot.

So you were happy with out first half? You felt as though losing the TOP battle to WKU by almost ten minutes is a positive sign? You think the fact that Lee has less sacks taken in like 200 more attempts than JJ has in like 35 attempts is a good statline for us?
I mentioned this a few weeks ago when they were about even on number of sacks, yet Lee had over 10x the attempts. This is a very eye opening stat, and this trend continued Sat night.
Sure, people will say that Lee just throws the ball away, or slings it into double coverage, but the fact is he still has a 60%+ comp percent and he's only thrown 3 picks with 14 TD. The old counter that Jefferson is able to make positive gains when the pocket breaks down doesn't hold much water, IMO.
