Either you haven't been watching games or turning the channel, going to bathroom, getting something to eat, etc when we field punts?

The last LSU punt returner (the type that opponents avoided kicking to) that I recall is TM7.

Before him was:

Trindon Holliday

Kevin Faulk

Eddie Kennison

Todd Kinchen

Bruh, you really don't remember Patrick Peterson?

He forgot several elite punt returners. He has brought great shame upon his family with that weak arse list.

Eddie and TM7 are 2 that it was clear to me that other teams schemed to avoid.

Many great ones in this thread and just because they didn't come to immediately to mind doesn't mean I'm disrespecting. I'm frickin' human ya' know?

1+
I've watched a LOT of good LSU punt returners through the years, but Eddie Kennison is the only one that made me feel like he could break a punt return for a TD anytime he touched the ball. I was watching the Miss State/LSU game on TV (prob a Jefferson Pilot broadcast-only you fellow old timers will remember JP ) when Eddie had a 105 yard return. I remember the sheer horror I felt when he was bounced into the LSU end zone by a would be Bulldog tackler). Poor Miss State was victimized by Chad Jones' historic punt return many years later, as well. Anyway, enjoy these two memorable punt returns.
Two great LSU punt returns against Miss State.

Keep up with the changes….. its not beneficial majority of the time to run …. When you can take it at the 30.

Hmmm 2021 stats

LSU: 22 Punt returns
ND: 15 Punt returns

Yet Notre Dame was 49th in punt return yards per game while LSU was 104th. It's quality over quantity in this case.

Our punt return game has been really poor. And to be honest, Palmer had it stripped from him on that last punt return in the aTm game and we just lucked out that the refs thought they blew the whistle first because they clearly didn't when you watch it over and listen to the whistles come well after the strip and recover by aTm.

Palmer has great speed and returned 1 for a TD back in 2019 against Northwestern, but he has struggled to do anything significant since in the return game. Our whole scheme there needs an overhaul.

We field some, we just don't do much of anything with them. Palmer had 3 returns for 2 yards against aTm.

No shite. People think it's just LSU b/c they don't watch other teams. It's much smarter to Fair Catch a punt inside the 25 yard line now. Punters are getting more precise than ever now that teams are recruiting Aussies. American punters have perfected this technique as well.

They call it a Rugby style kick but it's mostly coming from Aussie Rules players who don't have all the tools to play pro ball back home. They can jog left or right and put the ball in the corner inside the 20 with ease.

That was Patrick Peterson who was also a great LSU punt returner.
