Transfer portal and recruiting

And LSU has two pretty good Olinemen already committed to go with Dellinger from last year. It’s a start …

Problem with the transfer portal is it works both ways. The hire is crucial.

Fan apathy really.

Even after O’s magical run, not many truly believed in him, so once it started to turn people bailed quickly

I also think NIL, players sitting out, and the super conferences are starting to turn people off that once believed college athletics were pure. I mean those people were always wrong but they still believed it.

You have to re ignite the fan base

FSU fans never thought this would happen, and it started soon after they won a title

Willie Taggert was 16-20 at Western Kentucky, 24-25 at USF and 7-5 at Orgeron. The stupidity of FSU hiring him cannot be overstated.

Despite what we're seeing on the field, there are several highly recruited younger guys on the roster right now. We aren't going to have Alabama or Georgia level offensive line talent, but we'll be as talented as any other team on our schedule.

Also, the new transfer allotment will help us tremendously

We're losing a lot of the guys currently playing. It's going to be a rebuild.

You think that's a bad thing?

Offensive lineman take time to develop and there are young guys on the roster who were highly recruited who will be entering their second, third and fourth years next year.

Dumervil doesn’t look good at all

Wire looks OK. I think dellinger might be better served at guard or center, TBH

Hopefully with Campbell being an early enrollee he can lock down a spot and dabble in the transfer portal for help

West teams are not passing us up lol. They are having moderately better seasons for 1-2 years. That happened under saban and miles too. We are 1.5 years removed from a season better than any of those teams have had in school history and the year before that we finished in the top 10 which they rarely do. Once we make a new hire we will quickly pass them back up. And eventually they will have another spurt of 1-2 years when they are a little better than us. Then will will pass them again. We are better than those teams 70% of the time not 100%. It has never been 100% for long periods of time

He's also just in his second year and still has 3 or 4 years of eligibility, depending on how much more he plays this year.

Not only couldn’t the previous coaches at both those schools not coach but they set recruiting back years. At least O got some talent to LSU

If the new coach does not have offensive linemen then a just above .500 future is in the cards.

You should reject the notion that we're facing an imminent collapse of LSU football.

Jimbo Fisher wasnt recruiting much before he left FSU and then Taggart was fired for not being able to fill the holes quick enough and the boosters were impatient and they didnt want to sit thru a rebuild (how ironic is it that they now have to sit thru the rebuild because the FSU coffers are empty).

LSU is simply losing the arms race. I bet itll take a few seasons for the culture change before we're challenging everyone for natties

While I'm really down on us right now, I don't believe this for a second. Even if we're the 3rd best recruiting team in our own state, we should still be competitive enough to win at a 9-3 or even 10-2 clip.

Hoping for a 6-6 season is not LSU. And never should be.
