Coaches or players ?

Who's burden fall on more?
I'm saying the playeRs are ultimately responsible.

Coaches scheme, prepare and game plan.

For any of us that played football you'd know that whiffing on a block, missing a tackle, hooking a fg, botching a snap, fumbling, overthrowing a pass or jumping offsides is player induced.

Coacches put players in right position to make plays. Hence forth the term "playmaker"

IMO everything that happens on the field, court, ice or whatever is ultimately the coach's responsibility.

to execute the play that is called? sure.

but schematically, what could the coaches have done to put the players in better position to succeed? call better plays, outscheme their opponents, spot matchup advantages and attack them accordingly, and above all - preparation. you know from the first series if your team is prepared or not...and if they are not, then it's on you.

Come on bro, I get thats what you say at press conference as a coach but Alabama won NC this year bc their qb made a play when it counted.

Had it been picked they lost bc of it.

LSU makes fgs vs nd we win that ballgame.

One of my best friends is a hs football coach and he's told me numerous times in conversation his job is to coach and prepare his guys best of his ability, when lights comeback on and they're between lines it's players time to shine.

and why do you think that coach would get fired if his players don't play up to par?

it's the perceived notion that they were not prepared enough for the challenges that they faced. and that's on the coaches.

I'm going to guess your opinion on the matter is whatever allows O to take zero blame whatsoever for any failures last season and going forward.

his position basically points to absolving coaches from any losses or problems on the field.

if that's the case, why would any coach ever get fired if he's not responsible for the product that is displayed on the field?

Fair enough, let me ask you a simple question then.

Why do players get benched?
Wonder what Jalen hurts would tell you if asked this question?

Brandon Harris?

Coaches get fired bc they don't win enough.

Players get benched bc they don't execute.

Fact.

Coaches.

If a player is not executing, put in someone who will. If your offense is not working, find a reason and fix it.

If an offense is not executing for a game or two, yeah you can say the players had an off day. But if the offense is consistently not executing, it's on the coaches.

Exactly right. Some coaches have the ability to have their players prepared to play and some don't. The fact is that in that National Championship game, Bama had Tua prepared to play and he went out there and won the game.

I realize that you started this thread because the question came up in another thread. Execution of the players comes from practice where the players are coached. That's why I'm saying it always falls on the coaches. It's not as if I'm alone in thinking this.

it's not a new or foreign concept to believe that a team's performance is the ultimate responsibility of its coaches.

True, but the O haters won't accept this.
It amazes me how an biased agenda can cloud people's ability to think logically.
