I would agree with you, but recruiting doesn't suggest that he's done anything other than catch lightning in a bottle with JD5 and we are 2 years away from offensive stats reminiscent of 2011 with next year being a much less productive offense but still decent because of the oline

Recruiting losses are much more concerning than the on field play

If you can’t land the top DL instate, you’re going to have the exact same defense next year

BK has fixed the offense and possibly regressed the defense but that part is also fixable. He’ll handle house and do what’s needed. Even with the challenges, LSU has shown flashes of what an elite team could look like. Downvote away

The offense is in good shape, even going forward despite what some of the idiots here think. But the defense didn’t possibly regress. That is irrefutable at this point.

I get the reason for hiring House at the time (previous SEC success as a DC, a scheme that looks to be a good fit vs modern offenses), but it isn’t working. They are 100% going backwards now. More than a few players look checked out and if a bye week didn’t have any impact, then it’s beyond fixing.

I agree with you that Kelly will likely move on now. His three DC hires before House were all great successes, so hopefully he gets back to that and we get back on track. But there’s no guarantee even the right hire fixes this defense in one season.

The recruiting losses in state are concerning.

If things hold, we will go 8-10 in state this year. One of those two who went elsewhere made it clear he wasn’t interested in LSU. The other was a loss at a position of need and that sucks, but it’s not like the floodgates are open like some of you seem to think. The offensive staff also seems to have a good start on the next two LA classes, which look better than this year’s group.

Serious question, who have we lost? And to what teams?

Guess you haven't seen our roster for next year, our defense will more than likely be worse if that's even possible and we lose our talent on the offense.

I figured you might just tell me lol.

This is a case where I’d love to put my foot in my mouth, but based on the information I have next year’s defense should be worse than this year.

It’s amazing how fricking stupid some of you are. OL, TE, RB and WR recruiting are not the fricking problem. These positions are all lined up to be good to great for more than just next season. We are in it with the two top QBs for 25 with Daniels as evidence that the offensive staff will showcase them and surround them with talent. What in the frick are you talking about with 2011?

Defense is a huge problem. We all know that. But any of you complaining about offensive recruiting and development today are total fricking morons. Damn.

Compared to 20 and 21, clearly, but is that now the standard? If we do not win the SEC in the next 3 years then BK will probably be a mega fail.

kelly has a huge problem on his hands. coach O said you had best win a title by year 3. him and miles did. saban won sec year 2 and a natty year 4. kelly will get extra time for obvious reasons but he is on the clock

Have you seen Nuss in action this year? The offense will need fixing next year whether or not the defense improves. Nuss in practice is much better than Nuss in a game.

Except he has done both of those things.

It's a bad defense anyway.

So it doesn't matter how well we're doing everywhere else?

LSU fans are dumb.

What preseason goals? Kelly said before the season that we're a year away.

No, it doesn’t matter. Not when the deficiencies are as blatant as they are — Did you miss this entire season where we have the 2nd best offense in school history & have managed to lose three games because the defense is THAT terrible?

Literal case in point… staring you in the face… all year, moron.

We are still the team to beat in the SEC regardless of what happened last night.

A top 10 SEC defense is why House got this job. SEC experience isn’t the only thing we can look for. That’s not a big enough pool outside of Muschamp and Aranda, assuming he gets fired.
