I am currently a senior at LSU and have been going to the basketball games since my freshman year. Since then, "whiteboard guy" has been to every game and I applaud that, especially after last year. I have friends that are a few years older than me who have came and spent their due time at LSU, and they all say that "whiteboard guy" has been there since they started school. So my main gripe is, what's the deal with him? Shouldn't he be graduated by now. I get that you want to be a superfan, but should you dress up and go sit in the student section, clearly after you have already graduated. That's just my food for thought, what's yalls opinion?

For those who don't know who he is:

Tweet that a media guy made from the opener

Pretty sure it’s just a new dude who holds the whiteboard every few years or so

ETA: Just meant there were people with whiteboards before this dude...but yeah this guy has been around for last 5 or 6 years

There's one dude who wears a yellow wig whose been sitting in or near the student section since the Marcus Thornton days. I saw him on the board tonight, so the whiteboard guys is probably similar to him.

Nah it’s the same goofy guy. Him and the other guy are lifelong super fans.

It has been my opinion that the comments written on said white board are lame and very un-funny and reeks of "try-hard". Maybe it's a different guy now?

Quite personally, I applaud any basketball super fan we've had for years in a row. Shows dedication when you can consistently watch some of the shite show coaching jobs we've had.
Plus, I will welcome any fan supporting lsu to attend a game. Shouldn't be complaining about someone taking a seat, but rather all the empty ones.

It has nothing to do whether he attends the game or not, it's how he acts when he attends... no different than a fat guy taking up two seats to ruin a sporting event for a spectator.

I went back and sat in the student section a few times the year after I graduated. I wanted to sit with my friends that didn't get out as quickly as I did.

Sorry if I upset you.

How does he ruin your experience as a spectator? Does he offend your sensitivities or what? I see no problem with a guy cheering on his team, yelling like a crazy drunk man, while attempting to make humor. People on the rant will bash anyone sometimes.
And your example of a fat man would be applicable if the PMAC was filled. However, this hasn't been the case for years outside of the Kentucky game.

I think that guy is IRL "special" so I give him a pass and commend his fandom.

he is very much not special. He's a high school teacher. He's disabled.

I miss the dude that would wear the basketball head piece and the guy that would do that crazy full body shake from the Jabari/Stromile year.
