I don't know whether to facedesk or laugh hysterically. Auburn couldn't do shite regardless of TOs and most of their yards were garbage time. Gimmick offenses are worthless against chavis/LSU. If you'd have paid attention to the past 2-3 years you'd know.
Seriously? You're the one who didn't watch the game. Twice in the third quarter, LSU was only up by 14. The touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter made is 35-14. Auburn fumbled on their first two possesions, and an interception on their fourth possession. Hell, it was 21-0 early in the second quarter because Auburn turned the ball over 3 out of their first four possessions. Afte that, they actually outgained us.
I'm not saying SH will beat us, I'm simply stating that they might pose some problems if our defensive doesn't play assignment football.
This is a simple discussion about not overlooking an opponent, but you want to turn it into a debate over my understanding and comprehension of football. Meanwhile you have no idea about what your are talking.

they might be scoring 43 points a game, but they are giving up 38 pts a game. So we just let our guys run it and we should have no problem.

LOL we were up 21 twice in the 3rd as well. That game was never in doubt. You do know we fumbled it tiwce? But what happened? our defense stopped them and didnt allow them to score off of turnovers, unlike theirs. We were the better team last season.

A lot of you guys are really stupid. Sam Houston state will score on us. No they won't win, but they are definitely a solid team. LSU will win this one by 24

Our D needs to stay in their damn lanes! Stop trying to be the hero and just play assignment FB, attack when you see the guy hesitate and when your one on one hold your lane until back up arrives even then hold your damn lane. All these over runs and missed tackeles from being overly aggressive needs to GO! Our coaches need to be more creative when calling plays also, mix up the looks and routes. Don't give up on the TEs. Rashad, Mills, white and even Thomas need to be on the field. I like the freshman 33 too and Jefferson is pretty good. I saw why Beckwith isn't playing and why BH isn't. WRs look talented as hell. LF is really talented just wait. OL has to do a much better job. D Godcheax needs to be in there and would love to see Herron if he's better, Bain too. Valentine would sure help in depth. Lacature needs to step up his game another notch so does our veteran DEs. Other than that
and we win easily in the second half.

Do you not think that a 7 or 14 point game in the third quarter against a 1-AA team wouldn't have the Rant rustlin?
Of course it would. The rant is still rustled over Towson. Pathetic.

Sam Houston will score about 28 points against us. LSU will score 45 or more. I like the way Auburn talks about the LSU game last year and we hear all that shoulda, woulda, coulda. Go back and watch the game again. The game was never in doubt. LSU got up big by cramming Jeremy Hill straight down the war chickens throat with Copeland leading the way. When we got up by 21, Les started running on every single down and trying to run out the clock. He shut it down and Auburn scored a few points. The game was over in the 2nd quarter, anybody who didn't see that has no clue what the were looking at or was an Auburn fan.

I hope the team is not over looking this Sam Houston team. They are loaded. They are fast. And they will be motivated. They run an offensive scheme that historically gives LSU problems. With our inability to stop the run against Wisconsin, I suspect LSU will be caught off guard by Sam Houston's team tenacity.
We are very young, and this is the type of game that young players think they can win by simply showing up. Couple that with the fact that a win against LSU would propel Sam Houston to new heights, the same way App State's win against Meechigan propeled them a few years ago, and you have a recipe for an upset of monumental proportions.
I know you guys will think I'm crazy, but we were down big to Troy in '08 (I think it was '08) before J Lee went all Peyton Manning on a bitch. No matter what some of you might think, we are not immune to defeat from a lesser opponent.
I'm just saying looking at this game as a tune-up game could be disastrous for this team.
Fire Away!!!!
Sadly i agree! we are good enough to win by 35-40. But traditionally we are also complacent enough to make it a good game. Hopefully the hunger of our younger players will prevent this.

I think that SH will be a stiffer challenge than many on here think. BUT, they will not score 28, they will certainly not win and it will not be that close. Teams improve the most from game 1 to game 2. LSU will be much better, they will be playing in front of potentially the largest crowd ever in Tiger Stadium (at least until halftime, if everyone shows up) and they will want to make a statement.
All of that said, scheduling FCS teams is just plain stupid. If you lose, your season is shot and they talk about it for years. If you win, all you did is beat up on a team from a lower division. There are lots of D1 teams out there with more cred and less talent so you get at least a little bump to the resumé without the same level of risk.
