Greatest pitching matchup in the history of college baseball. Elite defense. Shocking ending.

Up there with 9-6 for me.

The walk off was on Cam Minacci's first pitch, Cole Roland was "meth man".

It’s definitely top 3 along with of course the Warren Morris walk off to win the title in 96 and the clutch Brad Cresse hit against Stanford in 2000 to win the title.

Can’t go wrong with any of the three.

Watched this game in the delivery room at Turo and welcomed our first son about an hour after Tommy White's walk off

It truly was amazing and one of the best ever, without question. This one narrowly tops it for me, likely because of our age difference:

This one is tops for me... runs were too plentiful in that LSU Miami game. It wasn't as implausible as a single run in the Wake Forest game.

Nah. The Morris walkoff HR game to win it all will never be topped.

And that’s not just because of how it ended. It was back and forth the whole game. The end was just the icing on the top of what was truly the greatest of title matches.

Morgan to Milazzo has to be the best single LSU defensive play of all time - no hyperbole. Was absolutely incredible.

Warren Morris homer notwithstanding, the LSU/Miami 96 CWS final was a crazy back and forth game with a lot of weird twists and turns.

You are correct. I am a “supposed fan”, and I don’t know what he’s talking about.

I feel like that team and the GOAT team simply won't be topped, at least not in my lifetime from a pure talent perspective.

That team will be difficult to match from a pure game and drama standpoint, but the this year’s team has more talent than that team, even though the top end talent of that team was better. This year’s team has more pitching talent and more position player talent.

I’ll always remember Thatcher Hurd’s story of stealing Lowder’s pregame meal from DoorDash

Tre Morgan and Millazzo on the bunt play, and Tommy with the walk off. Immortalized.

That game says it all about college baseball. We had probably the greatest college pitcher of that year and maybe several years, the greatest every day player of that year and maybe several years, and an outstanding supporting cast and still were a play or two away from not even making the finals. It totally brought me back to the Bergman years! I will also say that the Morris walkoff was my favorite just because of his backstory and everything.

For the stakes involved, it narrowly edges out Ray Wright.

For the actual difficulty, it will always be Leon Landry likely needing a tetanus shot after robbing UCI of a homer at the old box.
