I think they might be a better team than auburn, but they still probably won’t win on the road at Jordan hare. Which is not the end of the world if it happens. All of our goals would still be attainable

Man AU is really good and people don’t realize how good UW is. Plus it was first game. That Defense for AU is sick. Peterson coached teams just don’t get held down like that when he has an experienced qb who’s been with him a few years. Oline must improve two folds or we lose by 10!

I agree u dub is a good team, and Petersen is a very good coach. I think it will be a really close game, but it will boil down to our oline Really coming together, and WR catching EVERYTHING.

We should have beaten them in 2016. Etling had a receiver open who could have scored but he threw to a guy who was covered, then time ran out.

This team definitely has the potential to be better than Auburn. I see LSU winning by 3

I agree. I’m seeing 20-17 right now.

We can control their passing game. We have to play discipline defense on all that read option stuff. Gus loves running the read option over and over again. I think our depth on Dline will help playing against the run.

If our offense gets in any kind of a groove we’re dangerous.

LSU has won two of its last five games at Auburn and they needed divine intervention to win the last time we played there. Jordan Hare is tough, but it's not some LSU torture chamber. We've done pretty well there, considering.

Other than 2014, LSU has not gotten their doors blown off at Auburn since 2002. In fact, far from it.

'04, '06, '10, '16, were epic battles. LSU won in '08 and '12.

The same cannot be said when the game has been in Tiger Stadium. Last season was a RARE close game at LSU in the series. Until then, we hadn't seen a close game since '07

I'm with you.

Quick synopsis of AUB's win over WASH (WASH OFF woes):
- 1st qtr, turnover at AUB 37
- 2d qtr, FG vice TD inside the 10 yd line
- 3d qtr, missed 40 yd FG
- 3d qtr, fumble inside the AUB 10, no points
- 4th qtr, 1st and 10 inside AUB 37, turnover on downs at AUB 43 (bad series)
Those are just a few examples of the scoring opps left on the field by WASH.
Starts and ends with the OL. Give JB some time to get the ball downfield, and give Brossette and CO. just a crease to keep them honest vs the run. DEF, do what you do best, shut Stidham down. In Aranda I trust.

Excellent post. I do think LSU can shut down Auburns offense. Its scoring points that will be tough.

First team to 17 or so wins this game.

Dude it's at Auburn. Are you not aware of the history of playing at Jordan Hare? It's going to take an A+ game by us to come away with the W but it's possible.

Amen brother. Captain Obvious here but one thing that stood out to me about the Miami game was the offense not going three and out and leaving our defense gassed. Bring on the haters.

No one is talking about LSU getting blown out. The ball just bounces Auburn's way more often than not in that stadium.

And the refs too for that matter. The key to the game is shutting down their offense. If they gash us early with the read option and RPO, it could be a long afternoon. We need to play sound assignment football and keep everything in front of us.

I agree 100%. LSU does have the LBs that can shut down that option offense. They just have to be disciplined.

I think LSU is better than the Barners on Offense. On defense, both teams are even with Auburn's front seven being slightly better than ours. This is going to be a close game...3 or less points.

Jumped out at me when the 1st half ended D. White was the first to run on the field, straight line to JB, for a 'slap five' before the team headed to the tunnel.
Give this DEF some time (rest) and field pos, and we are going to like the results ALL season.

It's too soon to know this.

Happy with the win. But this team needs major improvement in two weeks to win at Auburn-PERIOD

LSU has only won 6 times in JHS

LSU has only PLAYED in Jordan Hare 17 times in its entire history. So a 6-11 record considering the homefield advantage in a rivalry series is not that bad. It's not like the place is a cakewalk, but its also not some place LSU has uniquely struggled at. LSU had a four-game losing streak there from 2000-2006. So Saban never won there until he got to Bama which has precisely zero impact on this game. By contrast, Auburn hasn't won in Death Valley since 1999, a nine game win streak.

Auburn is far more jinxed at LSU than LSU is at Auburn.

2 wins over Auburn teams with winning records and the wins over the bad Auburn teams were still dog fights despite the fact that LSU was much better. You are not helping your case.

No one is arguing this so I don't know why you're bringing it up.
